Oh, thanks for the reply and info.

Really a nice looking plane. Love those Cubs.

Guess it take awhile before they're post-able...

Does anybody know the dimensions of the battery bay?
Wondering how much battery will go in there.

Control surface hinges

What is the best way to maintain the integrity of the control surfaces? The airplane comes with a bag full of pin hinges. What is considered the best way, pin hinges, blenderm or flap hinges? My J3 is just about ready to go except for this decision.

about a 2200 3cell is all that will fit in there....have wires running up there to the motor. I just left my hinges as they were......now that i think about it, i may tape them. Bought this thing for a friend to learn on and it is great. put a neodym 10 in it with a 60a ecs.....seems to weight it well as cg was spot on. The gear is a bit hokey but works and it lands so slow it shouldn't break. I ca'ed the wing pieces in that were only held in by a screw and then epoxied the cf tube in the wing so it is one piece now and much stronger. It flys very docile and very well slow. two thumbs up.

I didn't use any of those hinges in the bag and mine has been fine

Can somebody please point me to a thread that covers all of the different versions of this plane? Is there an official thread? I so far cannot find any videos with an unboxing or a review of this plane. I realize I am a little late to the party but I have bought much older models than this one and can still find unboxings and reviews all over the place. I bought the L-4 Grasshopper version from HK. Any links to info on it or the yellow J-3 are much appreciated. I guess if I don't find anything before mine arrives I may have to do an open box review. Problem is I need some unboxing/gadget pr0n to obsess over until my stuff arrives! Lol.
