I had a Playmate. OS 15, which I loved. Morning which stands out is the day it was very foggy at the field. I fired up and flew until the fog lifted -- probably nomore than 50 feet out, then figure 8 back. I do have the Pronto plans, and anotehr may be in he works.

I wrote Dave a time or two for advice -- always got a swift and correct answer. What a gentleman he was. Wish I'd known him.

howell

PS wrotehis wife a note of condolence when he passed and got a nice answer back.

Sure why not. I'm doing the aileron version as an electric here:

What size motor and batteries did you end up using of that? Didn't see it on your build thread.

I forget exactly. It was a BP motor that pulled about 250 watts w/ an 11x5 prop. I used a 3 cell 2100mah pack. I'm running the same power setup in a Bouncer ( http://tufflight.com/bouncer.html) now. Unfortunately BP doesn't mark the size on their motors.

250 Watts was PLENTY of power for my Pronto.

Pronto Kit

My Pronto Kit is almost ready to assemble. Think I will put a 36 Electric in it. May build the 4 Channel wing once I get this one flying.

Kit? Or did you cut it out yourself?

Kit

I cut the kit out myself. I don't believe that any kits are available. Looking around for a motor and this one looks like it will do the job. Price is right too. Hope to have the Pronto completed before Jan 1st.. Time will tell.

Well, they do and they don't. It just depends on the motor you get. I never did figure out why they did that, but I have a couple that are marked and a couple that are not. Hobby king used to sell them and then they quit. They did cut down on the number of sizes they used to carry, so a couple of my favorite motors are no longer available. The 2915 is the one I like the best...........

I would say that this one http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id...7&pid=B1898545 on a 10X6 prop and 3S or this one http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id...7&pid=D1748437 on a 10X5.5 should work fine with the first one being the best.

This is really a pretty good motor for a cheaper motor and I have been flying a couple for about 5 years now and they are still going strong. The bearings will wear out faster then the really good motors, but you can always replace them if you like. Still a lot cheaper then the name brand motors.

I have been looking at this plane for quite some time now and didn't know the name, so couldn't find plans for it. Thanks for posting them. I will build mine in electric also and it looks like it should fly great with ailerons.

70s Pronto

After a LONG search I found a couple pictures of my Pronto. The radio in the picture is a World Engines BLUE MAX kit radio that I built. I think I will try to make my new Pronto look like this one.
