Banjo, I made my top hatch removeable to permit easier loading and unloading of the battery. The hatch is held in place with a 1/8 aluminum rivet and 2 magnets. Works good and is light weight.

Ok, I have 2 pilots and I am asking for help picking the right one. The smaller pilot fits the Pronto best but the colors are not right for a US pilot in training. The larger pilot is perfect except for being too big. I could cut his torso away to make it fit better. Help!!! What do you guys think??

I think i would paint the smaller one to look like the bigger one.

Very tough call when it's time for pilots. The first one could be painted, and might look like the right size if the Pronto was proportioned after a scale ship. But in reviewing the original Pronto photo I found, Dave has a rather large pilot in the cockpit. Now that would make the second pilot seem correct.

Guess that is why it takes so much thinking to finalize the pilots. Coolest thing, it's your airplane and you can pick whatever you want and it will look OK!

Wait until you see what I would pick.

either repaint the smaller one (that red has got to go!) or if you're not squeemish take the razor saw to the taller on and cut him down a bit. just my 2 cents

Hey Randy....
Dave's conceptual idea was kinda along the lines of the VolksPlane... Which is a lite aircraft...
It was always Dave's belief and my as was that.... the lighter the better...
Personally.. #2 because of the theme looks... and yuppers cutting it down slightly as suggested by the other guys... would certainly help in the weight department... #1 IS actually more like the one Dave used orginally... and the helmet was painted to match the sliver which he used as his trim....
Either way.... the main thing is to just enjoy your plane...
