I don't see any mention of ALES (Altitude Limited Electric Soaring) on this thread? Are any of you 'dyed in the wool" glider guiders on here interested in this new format. I am a senior, senior, and look forward to a fair soaring competition without the hassle of upstarts and winches!Maybe the word "electric" is not allowed on here?

This forum tends to be about unpowered sailplanes.

Plenty of ALES discussion on the Electric Sailplane forum.

I love it, best format in years and I fly mostly winch launch TD contests but see this as the next better thing. Go to the Electric Sailplane group for lots of ALES and there is also a Yahoo groups thing set up by Don Hurban that has some of the more technical stuff if you are interested.
