I learned to hover a CP heli on a HK-450Pro TT. It can be set up to be a smooth and mild machine. So my answer is "Yes, it is good for a beginner".
A HK-450Pro can be put together for approximately $180 (shipping to the USA included) minus transmitter, battery packs and charger.

IMO NO,,,,, here is why, first let me say a TT tail will not be a good setup for learning on. Almost everyone will touch the tail blades when learning how to hover and landing!
So, this will break the gears and bend to internal drive shaft! So to this day, I like a belt driven tail over a TT...! OH, and just try and get parts!! For this HK-helicopter !!! Many people have to wait for months for parts! So they start ordering parts for Trex 450..
And yes, I do fly Trex 450 helicopters...
