Very impressive video Henke!
The camera platform works so well. My questions relate to the Venom's flown. What smoke system is used? What lighting system, and are the EDF's the factory stock Freewing setup?
Lastly, they seem to handle grass very easily. Are they stock landing gears?

Hello,

The venoms are powerd by Kolibri T25 turbines, useing the turbine convertion kits available via HAB or ready2fly. (a kit for P20 is under development too) The smokesystem is smokefluid(like the super dri) injected behind the engine through a 0.7mm injection needle.

Landing gear are stock, but don't last very long, the units are changed one after another every 20 flight or so.

One last question, did you reinforce the wing spars?
I have a venom and wonder if the stock spars are good enough.

Wingspars are strong enough, but we glue the wings to the fuselage as landings on grass makes the tube sloppy. The wheels are attached to the wing side so that the wing joint takes the punishment. Else a very strong airframe.

I finally was able to maiden mine. Nice Bird.

A pilot at my field shot a video of my maiden.....

Did anyone succeed in constructing a decent nosegear doorginge? And be able to post a picture of it?
Mine broke and i'm figuring out how to make a reliable one myself.

Very gusty crosswind but we did the maiden flight today. The stock fan was replaced with a balanced changesun 12 blade fan with 1600kv outrunner. Very powerful setup for this light model. My 5500mah 6S battery fit the compartment with little modification and balanced at the 110mm mark. The plane flies very realistically at less than half throttle and my 4:30 flight took only 3100mah. At full throttle the plane has almost 1:1 thrust.
Full flaps caused a strong pitch up but 1/2 flap seemed fine. I won't comment on the stall characteristics until it can be flown in smoother air.
Very pleased so far!

Which part broke? We strengthened the two plastic tabs with some aluminum glued with jb weld. They are fragile and could likely be replaced with some bicycle spokes bent to the same shape and glued to the door.

Thanks the beautiful weather today we were able to do another 9 flights today with ideal conditions. Tested stalls with both flaps up and down and unfortunately this plane like to drop a wing. Raised both ailerons considerably, checked the wing to wing balance, tried trimming rudder but can't eliminate the tip stall. Reduced the elevator throw which helps so I may reduce it further on the next outing.
In spite of the wing dropping tendencies I still like the plane as it looks and sounds great in the air.
Will post some photo's and even a video link later tonight.
