Extending the Rx antenna cord Vs. the video signal cord
For my ground station i will mount the reciever on a 50" camera tripod.
At first i thought about mounting the Rx up there and running a long RCA cable for video feed to the ground station, but i can also put the Rx on the ground station and use a SMA cable extension and mount only the antenna up on the tripod.
WHich option is better and where can i get good shielded cables with SMA connectors for the Rx antenna ?

Keep the antenna-Rx coax cable as short as possible. If need be, mount the receiver up on top of the tripod. Then run an RCA cable down from there.
If you make the antenna cable long, you will degrade the signal to the receiver and get poor video performance. In contrast, RCA cables can be very long and not have any degradation in video quality.
