I use between a 320 to 450 in 2s or 3s. In my video a 450 3s was used.

Other parts required for Freestyle?

I'm looking at the Freestyle plane on e-foamy.com. I'm trying to figure out the other parts required to have a completely "buildable" package. The directions don't really seem to indicate what is included and what is extra. Can someone give me a little info on this? For example, if I buy the kit, does it include motor mount? The product info indicates that the kit comes with a hardware pack that includes spar rods, elevator stiffener, and pushrods. What about control horns?
Also, what size motor and esc and prop is recommended?
Thanks for the help.

The hardware pack comes with just what it says. Control horns and motor mount are not included. I still have allot of customers who purchase these on their own.
On the category page is a list of recommended parts. Motor, prop ect.
Feel free to email me with questions and if requested I can call you.

I would suggest getting 5g servos for the rudder and elevator instead of the 9g ones. The 5g ones are plenty even for outdoor. You save 1/4 oz weight and the battery could be closer to the cg.

I ordered one of these planes today. Looking forward to putting it together and flying soon.
The 5 gram servos are currently out of stock but I believe I have some others already that will be suitable. Any idea when your small servos will be back in just in case?

I have tried using two 5gr servos before. The only advantage was the ability to tune each control surface though this can be done with an offset aileron servo control horn. The disadvantage is the two 5gr servos did not seem as strong as one 9gr even though they should be. Might have been just perception.

The 5gr servos are on order and will be here in about a week.
