***Ornathopter Flight Pics and Videos***

Ok Guy's, lets see the best of what you got! I love watching these things fly, glide,thermal and slope. The slope videos are by far my favorite! I plan on posting many of my own for all to enjoy! I used velcro to attach a cheap HD cam to a baseball cap and I use the caps bill to point the camera. It works great and I never have to find someone to shoot my videos.

This is a cool idea .. and it makes me feel like Ornithopters could be more popular one day .. I can always see the video thread in the fixed wing , helicopters, boats, bikes, cars....etc... you just names it ...

Gary, what battery pack were you using in this video? That's a nice long flight. Did you get that duration out of an 800mah or was it bigger? What was the C rating? Thanks.

Here's my friend's video of my Pterodactyl with me at the controls...

Gotta admit though, the landing's nowhere near as nice as I'm used to do with the LazyHawk...
Problem is, once I reduce the flapping-rate so I can make out the point where I need to cut throttle, the bird is already in a dive... And reducing the throttle on good luck did yet not once get the wings into locked position...
So I gotta land with wings flapping and cut throttle at the very latest point...
Any hints and tricks are welcome!

Sean, I don't know how I missed this. The batteries I use are inexpensive SkyLipo 2s 1000 mah @25c rating. So far they seem to be perfect for this setup. Motor is always cool and batteries just slightly warm. I had a huge flight this weekend and it flew better than ever.

gary first video is a lazy hawk it starts halve way threw a glide and 2nd is a clipped wing with a big battery on it with a clipped wing it sound like a heli it has a a slightly different motor to standard

you watch the climb rate of this little sucker and how quick it drops clipped wing with large battery 101 grams shame on me but it pulls it easy just drops fast cos of the weight
