HK-282A 2g servo/geared motor
Hi. HK have what I think is a fairly new 2g servo, the HK-282A. 2.56g according to my scales for the 'single-screw' version. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=14839 Putting it on a diet as shown I get it down to 1.9g. Quite a nice companion for the 1.7g linear servo.
At $3.99 it's cheap enough to experiment with. It has a 10ohm 4x8mm pager motor. I canabalised one to make a nice small geared unit. The servo has a steel 1mm pin on which some gears pivot. I used one of those gears as my main gear and the other as the shaft holder. Another gear with a smaller hole became the stop to hold the shaft in place. The shaft is 1mm carbon and the main drive gear is cyano'd in place as it is a loose fit on the 1mm shaft. A 45mm plastic prop of unknown origin draws 140mA at 4v. The finished unit without prop or connector weighs 0.54g. With prop it's 0.83g.
I have a drill bit set which increments every 0.05mm or 0.1mm from 0.3 to 1.6mm. They are not very expensive. I found this useful for reaming out the gears and prop where necessary.
