I hear yea buddy but what are you flying now! I have some 6s2650 packs that I can use in the 59 that I'm trying to sell but after I found out that I can use the 6s packs in the 59 that is on sale I'm re-thinking selling the packs..Not sure I need a 59 in the hanger right now since I'm trying to complete the 71 Slick gasser with a OS GT33.

When I go flying, I usually end up taking my 71" Slick, my 59" Slick, and my 48" Edge....But, I have now have the batteries made up to maiden my 74" Edge, a 70" Velox is getting closer and closer, and since I made the batteries up for the Edge, I can now fly my 72" Extra again....However, I do have other choices....

I like 48 Edge more than Slick. Think I should try bigger Edge. Or may be as everyone says, 59 Slick is different from other slicks and I should try 51 or 71

The 58 edge is pretty awsome, I like the 59 a lot but it does fly different than the other slicks. It is very precise but still 3d's well

Just maiden mine yesterday with the 480kv motrofly and 6s 2500mah gens ace. My battery balanced about half an inch in front of the wing tube, I also have the light weight motor mount option

Great! How did it go? Was this your first 59" Slick and the largest plane that you've ever flown? Also what ESC are you using? Thanks!

Do people use the 4s packs in the 59" slick instead of the 6s packs because the 4s packs could be used in series in a larger electric plane like the 71" slick? If I do get the 59" I need to figure out if I'm going to use the 6s packs I have and get the 4315-480 or go with 4s and the 4315-714 motor. Thanks!

It sounds like I might be in the minority but I run a 4s pack on my 59" Slick and pair them to run 8s in my 71" Slick.

In the 59" I have a Hacker A40-10s V2 with a 15x8 VOX wood prop
In the 71" I have a Hacker A50-16L V2 with a 19x10 XOAR wood prop

Most on this thread seem to think the 4S Hacker setup leaves the 59" underpowered, I think it's just fine for what I ask of the plane. For me, the test is how hard it pulls out of a hover and it's fine. Others may want more. It's all about your flying style.

It's not so much that it's underpowered on its own. Rather, when compared to the Motrofly options, either the DM-3620 750Kv or the DM-4315 714Kv, its deficiencies are revealed and the power of these motors is highlighted.

On the same 4s packs, going from the A40-10s to the 4315/714 with a 15x8 Xoar, I gained 1300rpm. That's over 3 lbs additional static thrust!

Of course, in Harv's hands, any power combo is going to look impressive!

Do you know how many amps the 4315/714 pulls with your setup and did the extra power come at the expense of flight time? Thanks in advance for your response!

I fly my 59" Slick with the 4315-714 using Zippy Flightmax 40C 4000mAH packs, and I am not easy on the throttle and easily get 5.5 minutes with about 37% left in the packs afterwards.....

Thanks for that feedback Steve. I think that is the setup I want to go with. I just need to sell the 6s packs I have and order some 4s packs. At least with the 4s packs if I don't like my 71" gasser with a OS GT33 after I get it running and I convert it over to electric I could use the packs in a 71" slick electric. Makes sense to me!

WOT it pulls around 88A with the 15x8 Xoar. I think most here run the 15x7. I did test with a 15x7 APC and it pulled more amps and lower rpm than the Xoar 15x8. I think I was pulling closer to 70A with the Hacker.

I really didn't notice a decrease in flight time. I am still learning a lot of the slow 3D moves but still, I don't spend a lot of time above 3/4 throttle. I get a comfortable 6 + minutes on a 4000mAh pack.
