i should add that I run this set-up on my 58" edge

The pics they have on the website show the planes without any of the small stars on them.

I noticed that too I think the photos were shot of Andrew Jesky's prototype version which I guess didn't need the stars

I just put together a 59inch slick with these servos, great servos but unfortuantly one locked up on the 7th flight this last weekend. I almost saved it but at about 5 feet off the ground it started to tip stall and i corrected but didnt add some throttle, it pancaked the ground breaking in half right behind the Gear.

Fixed it already and contacted hitec and there replacing my servo for me as there were about 1 week old.

Bought a whole new plane before i was like well ill fix this. So now i have a brand new one on the way and my repaired slightly heavier one. More the merrier.

Hucking the 59 This plane is just incredible! So refined and feels chunkier than a 50 airfcraft, but not too intimidating like the 71 I had Really love it

Build log coming very soon

Great photos!

Question for the group: My friend want (and is) going to use a Eflight 46 w/ice 75 lite on this plane. I think it is a 670kv motor. What prop and lipos should I recommend?

The eflite 46 seems underpowered IMO. I'm flying at about 1250-1300W - the eflite 46 seems to be a 925W motor from their literature, which is closer to the power level of my 48" planes.

this plane would fly on 925W no problem, although 1300W from a motrolfly 4315 is nuts, it is not needed. Jboy, you must have some ROCKET 48" planes, I run my 48 Edge on about 500W 3DHS only rates their 48" planes at 700W when running 4S systems, which isnt all that fun anyways since they like to be nice and light.

Eflight recommends a prop range of 12x8 to 14x10 on 4-5s packs. I would static test with an amp meter on big 4S packs with a 15x7 or 15x8 and make sure you are not over amping anything and fly it. Eflight also mentions that the MAX burst amp load on this motor is 55A for 15 seconds.

Thanks for the help guys. The 59 is going to an older guy who is a reformed circle flier. He loved the 41" edge I hooked him up with so he wanted more. He already had this motor/esc combo and I thought this airframe would work. No extreme 3d stuff here, but the eflight 46 is listed on recommended components.

The question remains on lipo cell count/prop. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Nebwake - THANKS!

The literature on the eflite motor isn't that impressive for a 3D plane. The configurations they provide get anywhere from 89W/lb to 128W/lb. IIRC, for 3D, you want 150W/lb or better.

I do like to have plenty of power on my planes - great for getting out of trouble while doing 3D and building up smash for a high speed tumble or spin.
