ya I gambled and went with the CC ice 100amp 8s max so if I need more I will have to get another esc, but I like the logging so went with the ice, I'm kinda lookin out for a used ice 120 for a little over a hund

according to robert at EJF it will do 130mph on 8s, that will be good enough for me if true. we shall see

here are the pics of my retract install, for the steering servo I just taped a servo in place where it will go so obviously it will have a double arm for pull/pull cables to steering arm.
the mains I set 10degs out so there not straight up and down to give a better footprint, the ground handling will suffer but I didn't want a gapping hole in the side of the fuse like I've seen others do

here's a video of the mains

That is a really good deal. I found the 110 for 178 and I'm thinking about doing that. Still waiting on retracts and fan to come from China lol.

John,

Thanks for pointing out that awesome deal on that ESC, I bought it. Now I need hobbyking to get the batteries I need in the USA warehouse so I can order them without paying a fortune in shipping.

Already received the ESC and found out that USPS now has my fan and landing gear in SF, CA. Should receive it this week. Time to start cutting some gear doors. I am going to use a dremel tool and cutoff wheel, I hope it goes well lol.

John,

What retracts are you using? I got mine today and they are way too big. Gonna have to send them back and get some other ones.

dont send them back yet, which ones did you get, can you post a pic

I'm using the changsun retracts with metal trunions V2 but I have some real reservations about them working on a 7lb jet, my plan was dont land hard. the problem is my buddy with the 5lb F18 is using a very similar retract and he is bending the drive screw on hard landings so now I'm really worried and may change them out, he just received today a beefier one that looks good but is quite a bit bigger but will work with some mods main differance is a 5/16 hole for gear wire, I'm sitting here thinking about it and I could use a titanium axle 5/16 and chuck it up in a lathe and taper it down to 3mm for my struts to fit, I think that would be awesome. the retracts are only 10 bucks a piece so would be cheap insurance. one thing to note these retracts come with no accesories what you see is what you get but I think that may be a good thing, using better parts

here's the one's i'm thinking about changing to

I have not taken any pics yet because these simply are too big. The struts alone measured to 5.75 inches in length and they weigh a ton. I'll try to take pics in a little while. The wheel diameter is 2.75 inches lol.
