Have you had a chance to fly it yet? Do you like it?

The instructions on the kit version were the same as the RTF version. It didn't explain what type of servos to use, speed control, etc. It also didn't explain how to secure the wings properly. I had a feeling that I should have glued the carbon fiber tube into the wells on the wings just in case.

My first flight was a disaster. I launched it, it went straight up (good thing...plenty of power). It was a windy day and the plane wasn't terribly responsive (needed more dual rates). Then the wings began flapping like a bird (should have glued them on). Needless to say I didn't have a great maiden flight. The good news is that the plane glided well (until I lost sight of it) flapping it's wings like a wounded duck.

I found it...it was repairable, but I decided to just buy another one and build it to my specs.

The airplane is designed in such a way that it does not require any glue or screws.

HAHA!! Isn't funny how Newbs are always so ready to blame their mishaps on the equipment, but it is never a result of their inexperience, lack of skill or their lack of knowledge. Thanks for posting the vid of Mike Heer flying this bird.

Good video. I wonder how you would remove the vert/horiz if you have to replace it? How tenaciously does the tape stick?

The tape seems to hold okay. I have not had a problem with it yet. I would imagine if you needed or wanted to replace either surface, it would not be much of an issue. May be attaching the new one with 3M tape, or 5 minutes expoy?

I really don't see what the number of post I've made on this site have to do with what I said. The instructions on the kit version were definitely lacking. The Phase3 website doesn't even list the plane or any specs on it.

The instructions are for the RTF and I-bind versions.

The kit version has a removeable channel along the wings where the wing spar and servo exentions fit. They fit snugly and appears stable and even worked well with a few low level, straight ahead test launches. However when I gave it power and climbed to altitude the wings began to flap.

After I purchased a new kit...glued the wing channel in...it flies fine.

Ah, I can see why your wings would flap now. It is due to you not assembling the airplane correctly.

I think Phase 3 assumed that most who would purchase the kit would know how to assemble an airplane, and know where to use glue on the kit version.

I decided to be lazy, and picked up the receiver ready version.

Thank you for sharing your experence on the Kit version. Now we know what to look for in the Kit version.
