Yellow Nqd Jet boat.

This has been my favorite boat lately and my last build up. Here is how it went together.

Started off by running water cooling tip off of the drive. The water cooling is not doing anything but shooting out the back. I have an outrunner and a sealed up esc that I run with no cooling.

The previous owner cut out the plastic around the opening, not sure if it would have helped to keep it but I sure don't notice.

I thought this was a 90amp esc, till I threw this thread together and now remember its an 80amp.. lol. meh, its all good!

Nice big outrunner, 1800 kv

Installed.

Here is the first run video, works sweet.

^^ Here's the stock one, they kinda suck bone stock though. You need to upgrade the motor, esc, battery tx and rx to be any fun:

What jet drive is that, and how big is it? That's a big beefy motor and ESC for a small drive, should be bulletproof!

Sorry, I forgot to mention that this boat is using one of the drives out of the ABC hobby jetski. Its much larger then the stock drive and allows for the 540 motor size to mount right up.
Thanks I hope for it to be a hassle free setup, so far so good with the hole in side accident but that is being fixed.

Mate, I'll show you some mods when you have abused it a bit more.

Is that Typhoon heli motor 5mm shaft? How did you get it in there? Are you happy with it?

Good to see low kv outrunners. Most don't get how good they are. Well done.

Power on little NQD.

You got it, 5mm shaft so I didn't even have to search out any weird couplers. Super stoked with it so far, runs super smooth and I have zero cogging even at the slowest speeds.

Thanks, looking forward to some tips. This is my first abc drive. Thanks!

Has the typhoon motor got a fan at the top? Being a heli motor? Looks like it does. I run a heli outrunner with fan on a tunnel and no need for water cooling whatsoever.

I'm looking at your motor now, pending my paypal spending fast keyboard fingers. That's just sick, a 500 outrunner in the NQD.

Yeah, I have never felt any heat what so ever off this setup at all. I mostly play in rivers and take short bursts of surfing waves to zipping around. Never just full out for a full pack.

No fans on the motor but it has those nice cooling holes that probably help tons with keeping it cool in there.

I lucked out and picked up the esc w/motor off a friend for $50.00. haha. Dont have to spend allot to have a good time right!

and Thanks man!

Here is a video of it spinning if you haven't already pushed that button in your cart yet.. LOL.

That setup on top of the motor would act like a fan with the outer can spinning.

Outrunner noise is tops in vid. Spools up like a turbo.

There are alot of jet boat fans here like wparsons, sundogz etc. Good stuff.

4mods,

Here's a tip via a pic of the perspex top with wetex and magnets. Driver/Nav/engine deck sit on top no worries.

Put tape on your perspex when cutting it, both sides.

My friend Gerry made me up something similar for my white boat. It consists of of styrene cut in similar fashion with the weather foam around the edges. I use it from time to time, probably should more I bet it cuts out on the amount of water I take in most the time from being submerged.

Yours looks super nice and cleaner like that being clear.
