I went to their site and it looks like a nice sea plane almost looks like a pond side. I found this plane here and the pdf files for free and it looks like a great little plane too. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1369728 joe

It looks like all of Alien Aircrafts kit are designed by Tom Herr of Herr Engineering. All the Herr kits that I have seen are well designed and go together very nice. The Seadragon is similar to the Herr Aqua Star but not the same specs.

Hmmmm, sorry. I looked at the Alien-Aircraft.com site, not the Alienaircraft.com site.

But I still think the Independent one looks better.

The Dragon Seaplane is designed by Tom Herr, same designer of the Aquastar and other Herr planes. Differences in the Dragon: it has ailerons, designed as an electric, flat bottom hull. I'm debating whether to buy one too, but I have many projects on the bench right now.

The Drake is similar to the Sea Dragon. I made plans and built one from FFF. It's a great flying plane. Very stable on water and in the air - also great on snow and will even ROG from short grass. I finally crashed mine into a tree last year and need to build a new one. Dig through the thread and there's several video links from people who have built it.

Dargon Seaplane

Guys,
I bought one of these and have put it together in about 20 hours.
The kit is excellent, nice laser cut kit. The instructions need to be downloaded of the website but are clear and easy to follow.
Tom Herr has engineered a great small electric kit airplane. Here is a pic of the bird ready for covering, I hope she flies as easy as it goes together.

Don't forget to get some pics of the maiden when you getter done. I am quite interested to see how it comes off the water. Hull design looks like it will be better than the Aqua Sub I mean Star.

Any flight reports on the Dragon Seaplane. I have a friend who is looking for somethig similar to my old Ace Puddle Master. This model looks very close to that, save for the ailerons and laser cut parts that most likely fit. Can't knock my trusty 20 year old Puddle Master though, it serves me well. Tom
