Genesis cat or Apparition now future project fighter cat

First of all id like to apologize for all my annoying threads and my indesiveness. As most of you know im very uncertain about choosing a boat to race.

I have been given the option of a nitro boat which you all know has its disadvantages same with F/E while the nitro is cheaper initially but there is a contant cost of fuel but with goin f/e id have to buy a few lipo packs to get me through the day but also a higher purchase price but the stock parts can go in another boat.

But after consideration i may just start next year which will give me time to save for lipos im just stuck between the genesis and both apparitions single and twin versions.

As you know the twin will just cost more but looks more scale and sounds awesome lol. I just cant make up my mid would be a more competative boat and must be reliable.

Im also worried about the big dollar boats with castle/nue/shultz this and that i was going to use a leopard motor and t180 esc with good prop/s and bullet connectors and good 4s lipos.

I may go single due to cost but if its as competative or as fast as twin then im more than happy to go single with the genesis its also larger anyways im sorry about all this thanks

Id get the genesis on leopard 4074,either 2000kv or 2150 kv on 4s
You can get the genesis as a bare hull aswell
http://www.astecmodels.co.uk/catalog...oducts_id=1253
but if you the artr just upgrade the shaft to 3/16

If you want to race it on an oval, neither are good enough for turning. You really need something a bit wider, like the Mean Machine or others. See what the racers will recommend...

Both the apparition and genesis are too long/narrow to handle oval racing well. If you want a GOOD race cat, look at the aeromarine sprint cat (29" hull for 4s with the leopard 4074), or the AC boats 3.5cc sized cat.

Offshore cats look nice, and run nice in a straight line, but aren't great in corners.

What kind of boats are you planning to race against?

^^ That 29" one is a better width as well. I can't say for sure, but I would bet it corners pretty well.

Shannon87, if you want to race and be competitive (except in scale hydro racing), you can't pick the boat based on it's scale looks (unfortunately). If you want to compete with OPC tunnels, you'll need to be able to corner at high speeds. Long skinny offshore cats just won't handle corners like a wider boat will.

When you say running against tunnels, do you know any hulls specifically that you would run against? Any pictures of the boats in the class? That should help you choose what hull to go with. What are the rules for the class? Motor limitations, battery limitations?

Don't get me wrong, if you're running for fun or running in LSO (spec offshore), then they're great, just not the best choice for oval racing.

Here's a P spec tunnel (4s1p, limited motors, this one has a UL1 motor):

WOODSTUFF 28" TUNNEL HULL FE P-SPEC (1 min 58 sec)

They run 45-50mph in oval trim.
