The RTV has a durometer reading of about 35. Pretty soft and flexible,
like cooked spagetti.
The first coat on the mold was with a product called Shell Shock. It is very rigid when dry. An experimental piece smoothed to 1/16" thick was similar to plastic sheet, but kind of brittle.
On top of that AND on the out side of the RTV mold I applied two thick coats of Plasti-paste. A two part resin that is extremely hard when dry. This gave the mold some support and gave the hull strength. I will have to mix up some more and make flanges for the outer mold support. This stuff also locked the hull into the mold so that I had to cut the plasti-pasta down the center line to be able to remove the hull from the RTV.
I believe the plasti-paste is hammer proof. It is very strong and they say it makes a good adhesive. It's some sticky as soon as you start to mix it.

Rick, Totally scratch. Plastic sheet and strips. Wood dowel for the reel.
From photos, No dimensions, just built to look and fit the boat.

Scratchbuilding all those things shows great patience and skill.
What material is the superstructure made from ?
Did you make the lights that run around the superstructure ?
Do they work ?

The structure is ABS plastic from Plastruc Inc.
It's nice stuff to work with.
Tim, I think your asking about the vent stacks, They are made from copper house wire, I believe 12 and 16 gauge. I turned some "hoods" on the lathe and they a little red paint and some light blue or yellow to signify the tank being vented.
In way of lights I'm thinking of using led's and paint the cage around the light, or use a thin gauge wire to represent the cage.
