The way I did it was to remove the battery connector and then solder a JST plug to the + and Gnd where the battery terminal was. It works great and is easy to do. Details and photos here:

Hope this helps.

It's working fine for me with the battery connected to the original battery terminals. Maybe I have a different model TK102 than you?

I bought it from this eBay seller:
http://myworld.ebay.com/sweetheartst...84.m1439.l2754

It seems like there are several different Xexun clones. That would explain why mine works directly on the battery terminal and iacei's one does not. It probably needs a specific resistor load to register that the correct battery is connected. That is what the 3rd pin of the battery terminal is for.

I'm guessing you can measure the resistance between the battery's center pin and Gnd to see what the resistance is, and put a similar value resistor on the tracker between the center pin and Gnd. Take note that I'm guessing, so don't take my word for it.

I searched for info on the 3rd battery terminal and found this:

Quote:
The third pin is usually for an internal temperature sensor, to ensure safety during charging. Cheap knock-off batteries sometimes have a dummy sensor that returns a "temp OK" value regardless of actual temperature.
Some higher-end batteries have internal intelligence for charge control and status monitoring, in which case the third pin is for communications.

Is it a battery on this tracker, or do you need to solder and fix your own servo cable from this tracker to an open channel on your reciever? Where can I buy a 2g sim card? I live in norway, and got a iphone 4S, so i got microsim only.
How does it work? You use a sim card you buy, a prepaid for example, and how do you send the message to the tracker, and where do you get the GPS cordinates?

As an update, I have followed this thread for a while.

I purchased and installed the tracker in my Skywalker. I ended up using an ATT sim card in mine and it works great!!

I live in Texas, so international users will néed to adjust providers accordingly.

Good Luck,

Hector

Im having problems with powering this unit. LED stays solid with 5V power on the USB pins, but it does not respond to sms commands. But it works perfect with the battery (3,7V). Is it possible to power the unit with a 5V supply on the battery connectors?

Correct. The unit needs to be able to send a text message with the gps coordinates.
