Hi Kevin..Why did you not buy the ,EDF, use in F86 sabre togheter with the AMMO 10 inrunner!?Is better the GWS edf?!!

I've been watching this thread and now I am building one too ! I'll use the Eflite Delta V 28 mm EDF with a Castle Thunderbird 6 esc on 3 cell lipo. The one I am building right now will be a test bed for the components and to dial in the cg, the next one will be more detailed... I am also using a Spektrum board rescued from a Parkzone Sukoi, it took me a while to program it correctly for the elevons and took even longer to figure out how to adapt the esc but it all works now ! I'll put in some photos later on....

NC,what glue is that you have used for fix the fan unit in your BAE hawk!?

Fred, so far I've counted 3 motors that have gone but others may not have noticed it in theirs or everyone elses are still OK.

Nadine, I use hot glue on each side of the case to hold it in place. Makes it easier to remove the unit if needed. Next one will have that attachable design I've got to make things easier.

Differences in the motors:

eflite: 11450kV - has higher torque so good for static thrust (higher blade count at lower revs)
Ammo: 12750kV - has higher kV so good for high eflux (lower blade count at higher revs)

If you build it light - the Ammo, which will give you speed (on 3S!)

If you like slapping on the glue - use the eflite (on 3S!). It will keep it in the air but not as fast.

That's worth trying with the 6 blade count! You'd need bigger intakes or a cheater hole because of the increased static volume of air so you don't want to load down the motor by choking air supply.

I have stalled on completing a design that I wanted to add to the order since it costs me 20 bucks in shipping each time..

Guess I should either finish it or get the next lot printed huh?
