Mike, I haven't tried your motor in any of the small edf cases as yet.
Ya I saw. Can't wait for the flight vid.

Hey CN, you don't need Spektrum to do micro jets. I was doing 20mm jets before the little bricks came out. Several companies make micro 72MHz rx's that work with the Spektrum or HK micro servos. Falcon made a two servo/rx brick in 72MHz, a little heavier but works well. If you're 2.4 Futaba, they have a light rx that'll work with micro servos. You'll have to come up with a better excuse than not being Spektrum.

i use airtronics 2.4 exclusively. never ever ever had a problem, been flying the RDS8000 for almsot 4 years, and just got a SD10G....that damn thing has so many bells and whistles, im scared to use it

well, theres nowhere good to fly indoors around here, and normally theres wind....thats why i like 40, still really small, and cheap....and can handle outside wind well.

the 30 stuff is cool though

Ok, those are better excuses! I was kinda hoping you'd do some smaller fast stuff, but agreed, probably wouldn't fit your situation.

Thanks guys.

I don't think I mentioned that I skinned the entire bottom of the jet and leading edge of the wing with a fine coat of finishing resin to give me some protection on landing. The LE and intakes on the other Hawks always got a beating from the rough grass we have here so I opted for the weight penalty to protect this one better.
I also have 1mm CF rods running down each side of the front of the fuse as they always snap just in front of the intakes if the nose grabs the deck on rough landings.

I finally got this little beauty in the air today! She looked great on the fly by's and what a sweet sound coming from the 25mm EDF unit. We clocked it at around 70 MPH !!!!

looks great NC, you've come a long way since the first prototypes!

I can't imagine we're too far away from mainstream micro EDF now
