Just arrived here for me from RCLipos the four batteries I´ve bought for my jet! The orders are arriving slowly, but better than never!

For the motor linkage with the esc, what kind of connector you use?

I just can´t wait to finish it!

Just downloaded the plans for this- hopefully it will be my first RC build!

I'm brand new to EDFs, and I'm wondering what would be the most pain-free way to get this done. Would it be possible to use the guts from a Great Planes F-86 Sabre?

My TX will be a DX6i that I'm about to order.

How does this set-up look?

I bought the newer 1015 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBPXF&P=7 and some days ago I bought a wrong edf unit (two pcs) from shapeways: I bought a 12mm instead of a 10mm so the motor doesn´t fit on it.

The edf needed for this motor is this one http://www.shapeways.com/model/373728/mdf25-10.html, isn´t it?

I need also that shapeways send it to me by USPS insted of UPS, could you help me in this process?

Dave is/was running the TGY 1015 in my MDF25/10. Greatplanes just came out with a newer 1015 that is supposed to be way better (and more user friendly) than the TGY 1015. You will need a GWS EDF30 rotor which can be found at many online vendors.


I have an idea that you (Dave) might just like. I have 25mm units made for outrunners with a max diameter of 14mm. How much power do you think you can shove in a Hawk?

Careful Luis, that Falcon may just get jealous and take the Hawk out of action in anger! Hope you get your EDF issue sorted. I agree send a private message to NitroCharged as they always show right up front when opening your files.

Well friends, more news. I finally installed the tailerons, and the micro horns. The upper fuselage depron piece is still not glued in place, once I have to wait the servos and wire arrives to me. I put the tailerons just like Dave told: with a very thin carbon rod, 7º, and thermo tube to let it free.

I allways used FM radios like futaba and Hitec. But I´m thinking about buy a Spectrum Dx6 to me, to use in this model with the 6400 rx board. What do you all think about it? I´ve never used a 2.4 radio before. I´m looking at ebay and there are the dx6 and the dx6i radios, the "i" version is much better?

The Dx6i (DSM2) is the replacement for the much much much older Dx6, which operated on DSM. Now the Dx6i comes with Spektrum's newest frequency band called DSMX. It operates by hopping between a wide band of randomly chosen frequencies. From what I have seen and read, this may be the best form of 2.4ghz.

Today arrived the waterslide decal transfer, and I decided start painting my Bae Hawk, even that I will need to wait for the eletronics arrives to finish the painting details on the top of the model

I did mask it and airbrushed. The rudder and top fuselage are not glued in their places, I just put on the model to see how it will be...

What do you think?
