Which plane that you've owned, would you replace if you destroyed it?
Hi I think that'd prob a good test of a plane. That you'd buy another if you detroyed or lost it.
I've owned an
Phase 3 Squall HP
nine eagles micro Cessna
Windrider Ele Bee 2
And maybe some others that I can't think of right now.
Soley for fpv I think I'd get another Windrider Ele Bee 2 and possible eventually Funjet but I'd prob try a Stryker rather than funjet(of the above planes)
For reg rc I'd prob get another Skyfun, or again possibly opt for a Stryker.

I still have all my origional FPV planes, and I would replace every one of them if I ever needed to ! Of course, when I build version 2 of anyting, there are always lessons learned and things that I would do differently.

Like the topic
I have/had FPV equipment on the following:
AXN floater jet
48" Jazz wing
Hyperion strega racer
Funjet x 2
GWS formosa 2
Soon to be on the list:
Toro 900 wing
All time favorite = FUNJET

Hard to decide between skyfun and ezglider. Probably would replace both but of the other planes I have I would probably try something different.
AXN floater jet

I am on my second Koyosho calmoto sport 40 and I think I am going to up scale it to a 96" version and put a gasser on it's one of the best all around sport flyers I have ever owned I never saw any one that owned one not brag about how great they flew

My answer is.. I'd replace all of them at the time I build/fly em, until something better
comes along to replace its mission. I haven't had any real duds, although I do modify
and improve upon them where they have issues.
My FPV aircraft.
2x EasyGlider unpowered sailplanes (1 dead, 2nd could make flyable again in short order, moved away from it because it couldn't easily carry a GoPro )
3x Funjet (2 dead, 1 brand new and flying with Mobius)
1x EasyStar (retired, but could be made flyable)
2x Skywalker 1680 (1 dead, 2nd sold and it's still flying)
1x Scoutjet hybrid (failed experiment)
1x own design Tricopter (retired)
2x X8 (first crashed/repaired a few times, 2nd new, both flyable, but used only for long range missions)
1x H-quad (crashed/repaired many times, mostly replaced low flying mission of the Skywalker)
3x Skyhunter (1 dead, 1 repairing, 1 new unbuilt, likely to always have one)
Zephyr (unfinished. Just don't have a mission for it, and it's loud)
FX-79 (unbuilt. If it could be proven to be more stable than X8 in bumpy air, might build it)
Mini H-quad (on the way)

Daemon, how do you like the x8? I'm going back and forth between it and the skyhunter for medium range fpv. Both would have landing gear added, as I enjoy touch and go's every now n then.

X8 is efficient and fast bit doesn't make great video unless the air is perfectly smooth, which it rarely is. Get the Skyhunter.

1st FPV Plane- Easystar- Destroyed in action
2nd- MaxiSwift- Lots of fun with this one, but basically wore it out over time.
3rd- 2 editions of the SkyWalker- One sold and one retired (still flyable)
4th- Orig. Ritewing Zeph- Big ole heavy monster. Looks good on the wall of the garage
5th- 2 X8's - One demolished with a faulty APM (repaired and still flyable) and the other still like new. Rarely fly them anymore... Hard to launch and poor video.
6, 7- Blunt nose 40" Popwings- Favorite all-time FPV plane- Take anywhere, fly anywhere, holds a mobius or a go pro and can carry everything I need in my backpack.
8, 9, 10, 11- FPV quads- Flip FPV, QAV500, Ironman 650, MiniMetalHead- Sold all but the mini and the Flip and I love them both.
12- Phantom Flying wing- Smaller then the X-8 but same potential for long range. My current distance PB is with this.
13- Lucky thirteen goes to my beloved SkyHunter!! Best all around FPV plane IMO!! Does it all pretty darn good!! Could live without most of the list but would replace this and my Popwings over and over again

At this point Skywalker proved to be the most versatile FPV platform so far.
With 1880mm its not slow, it's quite stable for shooting video, easy to pack and launch. Downside, it's slugish to roll, and I wouldn't put it in a fast dive, that's Knurrus Maximus future role.
I also plan on putting FPV gear on Multiplex Blizzard for very fast flying.
