Budget R/C Phantom F3P first flights and F3P Contest
I finished my Phantom on Friday Feb 4th. The build went fast and it was a very simple plane to put together. I used a Hacker A10-15S with a Dualsky 6 amp ESC, JR S-185 aileron servo, 2 - Blue Arrow 3014 servos for the rudder and elevator. Batteries are Dualsky 2s 300 GTS 45c packs. Guidance by a Futaba 8FG and 6004 Fasst receiver. It weighs 4.9 oz RTF with lipo. Saturday I went to the Kansas City F3P and Freestyle contest. I flew one trim flight and then flew this practice flight of my Freestyle Routine.
I was immediately very comfortable with the plane. I can't believe how slow it flys, it flys as slow as my other milled F3P planes and is a lot cheaper to purchase. I flew the F3P-C with the Phantom, I had originally planned on using my milled Osiris but I was so comfortable with the Phantom that I used it instead. I am glad that I did, I ended up winning the F3P contest with it. Unfortunately we didn't get any videos of the F3P contest.

Update: The Budget RC Phantom F3P has been entered in three events and has three wins. 2 - 1st places in F3P-C and Jeff Pfeifer flew it to 1st place in F3P-A at the Budget RC F3P Challenge. Plus the Phantom has finished 1st and 2nd in two Freestyle contests. This is a great design. More info at this link.
