Yea, I didn't try to fold the leading edge either. Just sliced off the front section and glued it onto the main wing section. Shaped the leading edge and it's all good....

Yea it can be shaped instead of folded, with no issues, it just makes a nice rounded LE by folding with less sanding is all. it is a bit tricky to do but once you the the hang of it it folds easy enough.

at about 1:50 or so I started an almost vertical climb and it was way up there. Without the camera I can pretty much go vertical til I can barely see it.

Another alternative to either the folded or shaped le is to use stock balsa leading edge. Ideal for the Funbat with it's straight le and it's tougher than foam as well.

Nice video, you can also put the cam a bit off center on a wing, I have done this in the past to get some better video.

Well here it is, my funbat. I crashed a few too many times after this maiden flight and rebuilt the nose.
I was flying a 2 cell lipo to get used to the controls

A tip for all you trying to bend foam... Put a strip of packing tape along the OPPOSITE side of the bend, evenly spaced along the leading edge... Prevents the foam from cracking as you bend it. Works every time for me!

Also, I need a combat plane for a flying demo on saturday... I'm printing off templates now, I'll check back in around 11 with progress. Cheers ya Bloody Micks!!

Is the tail wag normal? I noticed quite a bit today.
And do you leave the paper on the foam? I did & now its starting to come up

i leave the paper on but tape it to keep it from peeling away, but it can be removed for a weight reduction.

As to the Tail Wag, I get a little bit in 10-30mph winds but nothing uncontrollable. Think it has to do with the large vertical surfaces and short tail, but it can still handle 30mph gusts with ease.
