You can check using a wattmeter, tells you the power (watts), amps draw, battery voltage, useful to ensure you are not stressing the ESC (or motor). I would go for 8x3.8 or 8x4 prop. Mine is 7x6 on 1800kv motor with 3s 1300mah 25c lipo, runs very well

I'd go for a 7x4 prop for the maiden and a 3s lipo between 800-1300. The 2200 lipo will be too heavy and will hurt performance. As always, check that the c of g is as per the plan but err on the side of a little nose heavy especially if it's a bit windy. Once you have a wattmeter you can experiment with different prop sizes.
Here is a decent Wattmeter from HK's UK outlet http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html. It can measure live amp draw and tell you how much % capacity if left in the pack after your flight. This latter function allows you to set your timer to give a safety margin for a few landing approaches. Here's my latest 600mm wingspan build. 6mm depron with 3mm depron KFm-4 panels. Rear fins smaller than plan but still tracks like it's on rails. A bit under-propped for the maiden. Motor is the MicroDAN 2535 kv that can take 4s so will be capable of a bit more speed if I want.

Getting some work in on my new FunBat V 2.0. I reduced the plans to 20" WS,from the 28" standard and my 16" micro. I elongated the fuse in the nose to help with CG, because of the slightly longer tail and soon to be working rudders.

To start I'm going with a 12 gram MicroDan 1800kv on 2s spinning a 6X3 prop, but that may change. I'll keep you posted with info and videos,

Hum, I might have to build another tiddler with maybe a Blue Wonder 3000 kv, 4.75 x 4.75 prop on a 3S 800 pack.

Some comparison numbers, Um Stryker: WS 17", auw w/ 200 2s, E-Flite 180 is 2.55oz. FunBat: 20" WS, auw w 360 2s, E-Flite 250 is 2.80oz. The FunBat is ~20% bigger in all aspects and less than 10% heavier.

Yes it is light, by the end of the day I was getting some knife flight and it has 3d capabilty. The rudders are a great addition to this airfarame. I'll bring a real video camera next Sunday for some better footage.

Nice plane. Looks fast enough to be fun but slow enough to manage indoors.

Just wondering - is it possible to shoot video with an iphone as widescreen rather than tall/narrow screen? I've seen this alot lately.

Yes it is and it's much better when held on its side(wide screen) but I let a friend video it and that's how he shot it.
