After finishing the purple and blue Funbat. I think the $ tree foam won't last. I don't think it will make it past the first landing, So, on to FunBat II.
Made this one out of FFF. pink 3/8" insulation. This foam feels like it will be more durable. I also added 2" to the front of the fuselage. It will give a bit more room for the electronics. |

Mo... Funbat ll looking good, packing tape would be a good covering to make it a bit stonger without too much additional weight. You can't deny your first F-B the chance of some air ! I see 'Headless' contributing
He's what I would call a specialist when it comes to the funbat, lucky hes one of my FB's and the person responsible for getting me into RC aircraft in the first place ! Hi 'Head..' how's it going ??

Well, I wouldn't call myself an Funbat expert although I've built (and crashed!) a Maxi, standard and Mini version. Presently finishing up a KFm-4 Funbat Ultra that will run a HK Funfighter motor, 40 amp esc and 4S set up. Hope she will be good for 90-100 mph but will maiden on 3S till I've trimmed her out. Will post pictures shortly.

See everybody... 90-100mph... just like I said
On the 'Headless' coat-of-arms :- 'If it aint quick, it aint flyin' ! Don't believe me ? well look up his funbat mini with like more than 4 rolls per second, or maybe the rarebear with 4s setup, or mini-wing with 3000kv motor and outrageous sports handling & yes you guessed it... speeeeeeed (hang on a minute... maybe I have one from his stable with similar performance ! Maybe I shouldn't shout ![]() )

There was an 'incident' with the funbats 2nd outing.
Front was munted, broken wing. Since it was Too heavy & just didnt fly nicely with all the lead I added to try & the COG balanced up.. I made some changes when I did the repairs Is it still a funbat ?? ![]()

Looks like a Funbat to me. Here are the naked photos of my Funbat "Ultra" build.Maiden was interesting as a touch tail heavy and had lots of up trim in. Got her down in one piece so have to regard as a success.

A bit flash Headless
![]() Put the boat out with separate servo's for aileron too ! I don't suppose its a bit quick by any chance ??? Nicely sculpted nose end as well, maybe the dorsal fin is a bit big, but I'm sure you have good reason I know you are a bit of a specialist on the funbat (having created various sizes previously), does this one track as good as your original 26" (or so) version ?Colouring in... I just got some clear 'fablon' style self-adhesive material about 24" width, would work a treat to cover & strengthen in one piece. They had wood effect too, it would look like a flying aerobatic RC fence-panel ![]()
