I am sorry I don't have any video but here is a flight report from today. I took the little beast down to the local park. With my 100mah 3s lipo i was able to climb vertically and my speed runs were fantastic. Inverted flight was great with little to no down elevator needed at all. I was not happy with the roll rate so I increased the aileron movement from 40% to 80% and added 50% exponential and YEEEHA! that is more like it! rolls faster than the eye can see and only strays slightly during the rolls. Loops are a snap, Literally! hard back elevator it almost falls over itself. And my plane is less than 200grams so it glides nice and slowly to a beautiful soft landing. I will try and get some video so you guys can see why i love it so much.

Has anyone tried a single rudder version? the twin rudder is for vertical take off but I really don't know if she needs all that rudder area.

regards
Matthew

Hey chopstix. Do you see that it wobbles a bit when flying cross wind with those large rudders?

I havn't built mine yet.it will wobble a little but to me in my experience with my HK PJ it's more stable than a single rudder.I'm going to make my rudders smaller so I can turn tighter

Shifty! good idea. I just think the rudders are for vertical take off, and can be made smaller. How much smaller were you thinking?

I was thinking about 85% ,will mock them up on the pc and see where I feel they look good enough.don't want to change to much.As they say "don't mess with what's not f**ked". it works as is,so not going to tamper to much on the design

If they are PDF's done to scale ( full sized )
Then using Acrobat X you print 100%
NO FITTING to paper.

X has a Tiling print function and you have a lot of choices.

Best to experiment as I dont use it.
I've only tried it out a couple of time to see how it sorta works.

I just Cut the parts out on my CNC,
So no printing. cutting/ pasting yada yada yada

And I shipped out about 3 more Funbats already this week !

I expect to see a BUNCH of builds posted here Fairly Quickly

No combat for me either. I like the plane too much. Lemuel, it sounds like your light version is a great flier. I do get the tail wobble you're talking about in crosswinds. It was a little scary the first time it happened.

I use a polyeurethane glue called Tarzan grip. Some folks use Hot glue. Something that has elasticity is good in my opinion.
