Also, will a 40A Skywalker Hobbywing ESC be enough? I do not want anything to get warm. Thanks. |

Hi Francois
there is really no need for any plans with this one. It's mostly straight edges apart for the curved lower front fuse. Just don't forget to lengthen the fuse a little as this will help with c of g. For the fuse, just cut it 6mm deeper than required to allow for the tabs. On the wing/tail draw a centre line from nose to tail and add two further lines either side for where the fuse sides will be. Mark out and cut the tab slots. I went for a 3 piece fuse with internal dividers for strength. My fuse was long enough for a top lipo hatch which was tape hinged at the front and held in place with a cut down servo arm at the rear. I used a balsa leading edge and 6mm main wing with KFm-4 3mm steps at c.50%. The lipo sat on a horizontal depron shelf with the RX and ESC mounted underneath. Cooling air was allowed in via a notch cut in the ply motor mount which corresponded with a cut out in the lipo tray which allowed flow into top and bottom areas. The lipo and vertical shelf had a slot at the rear that lead to an exit hole under the fuse. The ESC wire came into the lipo area via this slot. You will not regret building the Funbat. With the right power set up it's an absolute hoot. Fantastically stable and handles really windy days without problem. In fact I would say it's even more fun when windy ![]() Andy |
