Anyone else using a similar setup?
Will I need a bigger funbat?
What model motor? What brand/type of prop? I have a similar kv motor with a 7x6 APC or GWS 8040. The battery should be OK as long as it fits and balances.

Chris
It is a Himodel A2814/6 motor and a 9x6 GWS prop
Also, will a 40A Skywalker Hobbywing ESC be enough?
I do not want anything to get warm.
Thanks.

I think this motor would be better on a larger Funbat. The ESC should be fine but stick with APC props at these power levels.

How do I print larger plans for it?

The plans are HERE. THIS post should give you some info and you can follow it from there. I have only built the smaller bat.

If you build a bigger Funbat then ensure that you strengthen the fuse to wing joint. Mine separated in a spectacular fashion as you may have seen in my posted video.

Thanks, looks like I'm going to have to do some extra work...

I'm going to make this out of cardboard, too.

I'm intrigued. Just what are you building out of cardboard?

Everything (:
Except the motor mount.
I'm going to use either fiberglass or wooden dowels as spars.

Hi Francois
there is really no need for any plans with this one. It's mostly straight edges apart for the curved lower front fuse. Just don't forget to lengthen the fuse a little as this will help with c of g.
For the fuse, just cut it 6mm deeper than required to allow for the tabs. On the wing/tail draw a centre line from nose to tail and add two further lines either side for where the fuse sides will be. Mark out and cut the tab slots. I went for a 3 piece fuse with internal dividers for strength. My fuse was long enough for a top lipo hatch which was tape hinged at the front and held in place with a cut down servo arm at the rear. I used a balsa leading edge and 6mm main wing with KFm-4 3mm steps at c.50%. The lipo sat on a horizontal depron shelf with the RX and ESC mounted underneath. Cooling air was allowed in via a notch cut in the ply motor mount which corresponded with a cut out in the lipo tray which allowed flow into top and bottom areas. The lipo and vertical shelf had a slot at the rear that lead to an exit hole under the fuse. The ESC wire came into the lipo area via this slot.
You will not regret building the Funbat. With the right power set up it's an absolute hoot. Fantastically stable and handles really windy days without problem. In fact I would say it's even more fun when windy

I think you should be able to run a 7x4 or 7x5 on a 1600kv motor. I run that prop on my 1800kv equiped FB. Or you could try a 1000 mAh 4 cell pack. Now that would be fun
