Adobe 10 and PosteRazor can tile full size pdf's and both are free. I didn't bother with either as it's all straight lines. I just drew the wing panel and fuse on some flip chart paper and cut through to the depron

Swapped out the motor and now no high amp draw issues. Still need to test fly so whilst waiting for the opportunity I thought I'd tart her up a bit. Bat decal was a free clip art, in outline only, which I enlarged with PosteRazor and then transferred to the paper backing of sticky back plastic.

Nice! I don't quite understand how you did the bat I like it. Is it actually black plastic or is it printed?

Hi Chris
I just used the outline clip art from this site
http://www.clker.com/clipart-10053.html then drew around the scaled up image onto the paper backing on self adhesive plastic. For the eyes I just cut the slits and stuck red packing tape underneath
Fablon is the popular brand in the UK and it's sold on a roll & comes in lots of different patterns -woodgrain, pebbles, zebra etc . Here are some listings on the USA Ebay site but most seem to be UK based
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...All-Categories. Perhaps there is an American brand that's available through Home Depot etc

Just thought I'd post a pic of my Funbat. All that is left is to install the radio gear and trim and fly!

Looks nice. Now I will have to look up that name; Gungnir, and see what it means. I am thinking Japanese cartoon series.

Gungnir is the name of the Norse god Odin's spear. It is said that it never misses it's target. So I thought that would be an appropriate name for a combat plane.

Um ???
I just acquired some Interesting new Foam.

It has a Hard plastic (styrene) Skin on EACH side, NOT PAPER, with foam in the middle.
I have 7 sheets 40 x 16" for initial trial experimentation.
I've tested it's "Cut-ability" on the CNC machine, OK .
It cuts nice and clean with a hobby knife.

Of course it's a little heavier but stronger too.
No tape should be needed for span wise strength.
I would expect it to hold up on combat hits a bit better.

It's kinda like coroplast except that
1. it's without the ugly corrugations and one direction bending
2. it's all styrene

Unfortunately it also cost me a bit more ( ~ $1.50 more per sheet )

I thought it might be Perfect for doing a 39" sized Funbat experiment.

I will have to re-size all the TABS and SLOTS to accommodate it's 5mm thickness
before cutting a trial.
I'm thinking that a Hybrid of Depron and THIS stuff
might be optimal. New foam on the Wing parts only and depron on the rest.

I'll get some pix up of the stuff later.

It's NOT in the stores.
It's usually cut into smaller ieces and used for photo mounting or for screen printing.

I had to go 75 miles to Portland to a specialty plastics place to even get some
cuz unless it's 4'x8' it has a lot of cutting costs built in.

I'm only experimenting with it as it's heavier and possibly not the best for
ordinary foamys.

I looked at the cutting layout again and it turned out that the fuse would be best
when cut from the stuff as well. I adjusted the slots and tabs to suit while in there.

That led to moving other parts and leaving only the Fins in regular Depron.

Let me think about it for a bit longer.
