No Idea, I only use Hitec Aurora 9. However, you can buy servo speed controllers or use digital servo and program the speed in.

I run 9% on mine. I have a slow down feature on my radio but it isn't necessary. If you don't deploy the full flaps in higher winds or when going too fast it won't balloon too much. Another option would be to use a 3 position switch and set 2 flap positions. This would let you gradually deploy. Unfortunately the dx6i is lacking in this are as well. I think you would have to setup a mix using 2 different switches. Throw one for half flaps and the other for full.

I got this one:

Turnigy Servo Regulator

You also need a female-female servo cable to go between the Rx and the regulator.

To glue, or not to glue, that is a question.

The instruction don't indicate gluing the two wing halves together, they just show sliding the halves onto the support tube and then attaching to the fuse.

It seems like it would make for a stronger/stiffer wing if the halves were glued together before screwing to the fuse.

Any veterans here have insight or suggestions regarding gluing the wing halves together?

On another topic, anyone know of a source for the clear wing tip nav light covers?

Thanks for any help.

I don't think gluing them together makes a bit of difference. I've never seen a problem with the wings separating. The strength comes from the spar in the wing and the screws in the wing hold it in place. If you want less flex in the wing I would replace the fiberglass spar with a carbon fiber tube.

I have seen the plastic parts that glue onto the leading edge of the wings that hold it in place rip off. I would check those out and maybe reinforce that section if it is questionable.

I think Crucial is correct and the plane is sturdy enough with the wings attached with the screw. But, mostly for aesthetics, I glued them together and covered the seam.

Thanks

N703CP is done

Well, I got it finished. Like most foam planes, it looks best from a few feet, but overall, I am happy with it. I hope to have it in the air tomorrow or Friday.

Thanks for the help and info guys.

A piece of thin plywood, or plastic sheet, from you LHS, and some way to attach it, is probably your solution. Don't forget air holes.
Or, you could just secure you battery with a strap, and not worry about it. I use a Velcro strap, passed through the cockpit, with something to reinforce the floor where the strap passes over it.

Wow! As we'd say in New England: That paint job is "wicked nice!"

Flaps?
I experimented with 10, 15 and 20% down elevator mixes and found that 15% is perfect (for me). There's no up or down movement now when I deploy flaps.

No wind....Got the planes loaded...it's Saturday... I am outa here!
