Hi Joel,

thanks for your explanation. From what I have seen in various threads and graphs, I would've believed that MA batts outperform HYP batts when they have the same capacity. I guess they are pretty similar then, so that is ok because neither does HYP offer a 190mAh nor a 300mAh so my order goes to MA

Well, that's where I am getting mine from

Regarding the TP batteries - just shoot RCBabbel a PM. He's been making the lightest, highest-performance UM cells & packs available for a few years, now. Another dedicated RCer who takes pride in excellent workmanship and great service. He makes them from bare cells, so they are considerably lighter than factory packs of similar capability
Any idea about his prices?

You don't need any adapters with his UM cells & packs, so you save a bit more weight. ... But TP doesn't offer it with the UM connector, nor do they offer a 2s version with the UMX connector.
That confuses me I don't need any adapter, but he delivers the packs without the UM connector? What do I need then?

Cheers,
Bernhard

RCBabbel strips down ThunderPower packs, lightens them and changes the plug to the UMX type

If you ordered direct from TP they would have a mini JST plug.

Ah, yeah...
sorry about that, forgot that I was on the Mosquito thread there

I'm sure RC would still make you one up if you wanted a 1S UM plug on it.

As SP mentioned, RCBabbel would most likely make up some 1s TP: 325s with the proper UM connector so that you wouldn't need an adapter. Regarding prices - I'm not sure. Just just shoot him a PM & ask.

My apologies if this has been asked before. I haven't flown my mossy for several months. I thought I'd give it another outing . Go it all connected up and everything seemed okay. I switched it off and had a cup of tea. Got it all bound again. Now the ailerons act a bit like flaps. They both go up and down together.. I have tried various mixes to no avail. It is a DX 6i Tx. Has anybody else had this problem, or any suggestions as to what is wrong. Arf

Did you by any chance leave a battery in it while in storage?

These linear type servos have some kind of programming which it seems can change if they get low voltage.

You've got two choices. Put the Rx into Dual Aileron mode and reverse the flap or aileron, whichever it needs.
Or you could open it up and use a reversing cable.

Mine uses the dual aileron mode, there doesn't seem to be any drawbacks!

Thanks for the quick reply, the battery was not left in. I will give the Dual Aileron mode a try. Thanks again Arf

Art,

The brick supports dual-servo, single-channel ailerons (factory setting) and dual-channel ailerons. Leaving the battery connected & letting it run down sometimes causes the brick to go into dual-channel aileron mode. The other thing that can happen is that a servo can become internally reversed. If the brick is in dual-channel aileron mode, setting the tx up for dual-channel ailerons & playing with the servo directions on the tx should get things working correctly. If not, then one of the servos has most likely been reversed. You can reverse the servo direction with the servo-reversing cable that comes with replacement servos. You plug it in momentarily & then remove it. See page 10 of the brick manual. If the brick is in dual-channel mode, you can re-program the brick for dual-servo, single-channel ailerons. However, the most desirable option would be to set the tx up for dual-channel ailerons, which allows you to experiment with differential ailerons and/or spoilerons - both of which enhance low-speed maneuverability by reducing the possibility of tip-stalls. I fly Futaba, so I'm not familiar with setting the DX6i up for dual-channel ailerons. However, it is described in the manual. Someone on here who is familiar with Spektrum programming will most likely chime-in & give you a hand if you run into trouble. The directions for reprogramming the brick back to single-channel aileron mode are on page 11 of the brick manual.

EDIT: I see that Tony types faster than I do!

Sorry for all the confusion in the posts Bernhard.

The Miniaviation one cell 300mAh 30C battery Platinum Edition Battery is a (SPECIALIST) off the shelf plug and play Li-Po for the Eflite Blade mCP X micro Heli . Made for micro heli guys who want a MASIVE 30c of puch of power to do a brushless conversion of the of the Blade mCP X micro Heli.

But as i said before the only way to connect the Blade mCP X Miniaviation one cell 300mAh 30C battery is to get a (um to mcpx Micro Adapter) from (RC-Connectors)

Um to mcpx Micro Adapter.... FROM (RC-Connectors.com)
Use your MCP-X Lipos on your Mosquito, MCX, MCX-2, 4-Site or any other regular 1S lipo plane or heli....$5.39

Miniaviation Blade mCP X 300mAh 30C battery Platinum Edition Battery....
2 pack ....9.60
http://miniaviation.com/mCPX.html

Or why not just get a Blade mCP X Micro Heli and do a brushless conversion and put a Miniaviation one cell 300mAh 30C battery Platinum Edition Battery in it.. and go 3d Heli micro (BALLISTIC)

Do you realy want all that (MEGA) 30c power, and (MASIVE)long duration in your little Mosquito Bernhard ??.

Blade mCP X brushless video #2 (3 min 20 sec)

MCPX V2 BRUSHLESS (3 min 13 sec)

A Micro Heli? Come on...

No, seriously, I am totally NOT into Helis (not any more, I started with them) and I don't want any Especially no 3D Helis...

I don't care for any "mega" power, but I indeed want to have "massive" long duration, yes

That said, 300mAh are plenty enough, I'm just gonna buy 4 of those packs from MA and all is good.

Thanks and cheers,
Bernhard

My mosquito keeps losing signal or stopping mid flight, I tried different batteries, and the transmitter works fine on other planes. I get my Mossie up in the air for a minute then I lose all control, when I get to the plane everything works again. Well sometimes the motor won't run sounds like some kind of kill switch when I throttle up a little but the other controls work.

Sounds like there could be a bad connection (dry joint?) on the board somewhere. Spinning up the motors could be diverting too much power away from the Rx causing either reduced range or maybe even a complete brownout...

Further to my recent post concerning aileron problems, I tried all the electronic fixes to no avail.
I could not find a reverser any where. In the end iremoved one nacelle to get access to the servo which I removed and turned through 180 degrees. And it works !
Just bought a Mig 15 so I thought I would get my eye back in again with the Mossy. Wish me luck Arf
