If that's the final price for the RR version then I think that a pretty good price overall.
I priced up the same spec motor/ESC/ servos seperatly and cant get close to it including the kit @ 80...

Obviously if you used alternate motors/ESC it would be cheaper but for OE spec

was just about to preorder until i read the T&C's - i'll wait till a confirmed price is announced - have had confirmation from modelspot that is a CONFIRMED price that wont change.
I now have one on Pre-order

Just found what I wanted: The right size motor with higher kV for some Dogfighter speed with 3s - it's 1800 and cheap from HK:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=15169

that should work well with 7x6 blades and the MPX Spinner or similar

cheers

MPX... STOP with the awesome planes already!!

I will not be able to resist picking up one of these babies and cranking 1kw or so through it. It sounds like the airframe ill handle it.

As soon as I get one on order, I'll drop by Innov8tivedesigns to find a hotrod motor. This one deserves something better than Hobbyking power.

you can go up to 35mm, no need to stick to 28mm - weight will be needed in the (short) nose anyway, judging from the recommended weighty motors and the location of the battery compartment some distance from the motor I think you won't be achieving the correct CG with a motor weighing less than, say, 120g (and you'll have to shove the battery as far forward as possible).

I hope MPX gets this one on the shelves before the season is over...

cheers

I think it could be done as a pretty credible approximation of a later model Seafire, or even Spiteful or Seafang.

Of course, it is not really scale ... so there's all kinds of opportunities for Fantasy Scale or What-If-Scale

"In 1943, the axis of Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania started activating squadrons using a new fighter aircraft, promptly dubbed the "Speedfire" in England. Latvian pilots in their red swastika markings were the first to see action and immediately found it superior against any Soviet or German fighters."

Brilliant... and so shall mine be named.

There is a "High Performance" model named "Speedfire" but don't let that stop you

What do you guys think of putting electric retracts on the Dogfighter?

Just unnecessary added weight?

Unnecessary added complexity (and weight).

... but if you really must, post pictures of how you did it ...

I'm ready for this plane.

Any hopes at all that this plane will be available in the US before Summer?

Didn't think so.
