Thanks

I reread the release notes, made the changes for HMC5843 and Xquad and I got the Mission planner 1.0.0 running now in AC2 mode. The artificial horizon is working and I can see the PIDīs

When I enter setup in the CLI, it tells me compass is disabled when I try to calibrate it. I also get bogus values for GPS and Rawgps under "Test"

I am using the FMP04 module on one of Paul Bakes BOBīs. I have this in Apm_config.h:

Code:
#define GPS_PROTOCOL GPS_PROTOCOL_AUTO
#define MAG_ORIENTATION		ROTATION_YAW_270
This is what the release notes state:

Quote:
*** Do not forget to select your GPS type in the APMconfig.h Options are GPS_NMEA, GPS_MTK, GPS_UBLOX
Here is the output from the GPS and RAWGPS test:

Code:
Test Mode

test] gps

Hit Enter to exit.

G*?G*?G*?G*?.G*?G*?G*?G*?.
G*?G*?G*?G*?.test]
test] Rawgps

Hit Enter to exit.

In CLI type "setup" -> "compass on" then "compass offsets" and do your voodoo dance until the values in the right rows don't move any longer.

I'm also struggeling with the GPS unit atm.
Someone else got it running ... some pages ago ...

Help needed please

Hi guys,

I'm needing your help!

I'm still unable to use the mission planner, and I'm quite bored with this situation!!

I'm using Flyduino and FFIMU.

I'm able to upload the code with Arduino, but then:
- I can't connect the boards to the planner. I'm sure that the Baud rate is the right one and the COM port, too.
- I can connect the boards with the terminal (into planner or into Arduino), but I need to disconnect and reconnect the FTDI to enter in the setup menu.
- When I look at the compass, it seems that there are no datas transmitted to the planner.

Could someone here help me to sort this out?
Any help would be really appreciated!

@Norbert, and everybody interested by: What do you think about the wiki, would we create a new section in the actual ArduPirates wiki, or create a new google code project, and start a new wiki there?

Ok, seen that already.
Sometimes I need to disconnect and/or restart the APMP to get the COM port running. Had similar probs with the old one.
But you could try the version that comes with Olegs B8+

Second picture: did you calibrate the mag? "compass offsets" in CLI

Oh and your last question: I prefer a new section in the ArduPirates Wiki.

Norbert, thanks...Mag responding now!

I will also try a DIYD MT3329 GPS module... but those FMP04 modules caused quite a commotion in the crowd, so it would be nice to see one actually work on a copter soon... If anyone had success with those modules, pls share the magic....

@ Joebarteam: Which exact DIY Drones GPS module did U use...?

Edit: I have the MT3329 DIYD module sitting on my table right now reading my home position

Thanks, Guess I will be testflying tomorrow!

Baudrate settings and / or swapping GPS-TX/RX connector did do the trick for me.

Thanks Norbert,

My problem is that I need to disconnect the APMP every time to get the COM port running, and it works only in the terminal mode, I can't get the COM port running in other modes, so I can't change PID's, for example.
It's the same situation with Oleg's B3 and B8+.

I tried to calibrate the mag offsets, but it only return those 0.000; 0.000; 0.000...

would that say that I've a problem with the FFIMU?

Is there anyone with the Flyduino and Allinone combo using mega pirate B8, Iam still having problems and it is not to do with expo, when I tilt the quad in the APM forwards and right this is what the APM shows and it looks to me that the pitch is right but the roll is the wrong way, Iam just about ready to give up on this and just leave multiwiidev installed as it flys perfect with it but no GPS yet

I got something for you.

This is an archive with Arduino libraries am using with Allinone.

=====
TO ALL the pirates

I just finished an initial build of the pirated ArduPilot Mega for planes. The same flyduino, the same pins, sensors, and mode switch.... the PLANE functionality (fly by wire, waypoints, xbee etc).
How`d we call him?
MegaPirate Pilot?

That is a correct display for pitch down and right roll, the little symbol is your copter, horizon in background.

Not my vid clip but for demonstration.

Before you ask again: I made some more tests with my Hexa and the MP B8+ with baro settings.

Best results so far I get with these Baro Throttle PID settings:
P = 0.1
I = 0.01
D = 0.03
INT_MAX 50.0

When I activate the alt_hold for the first time the Hexa goes down about 1m.
I deactivate it then and hover it for some seconds before I activate it again.
Et voilá: it stays in a pretty small height window of about 50cm - 1m depending on the moves I make.

Hope it helps.

Yep!
It's best to wait a little longer. Didn't dare to fly the 2.0.24 on my big ArduHexa after reading the probs others have with the new code.
That's why Jason states the 2.0.24 is !ALPHA!

Maybe next weekend...
