TOW today

Today I had a great time flying with Keith, Lars, and Wayne. The wind was a solid 15+ and the lift was mostly good. We had everything up in the air from the Mini Mamba, to Keith's 3 meter moldie. Thanks guys for helping me get the Raging Hare (formerly known as Fluffy Bunny) ready for the maiden flight. I threw out and she flew REAL Nice! 2 clicks of down and she was trimmed for flight. Programming the crow elevator during flight was a different story. Lars flew it and I mixed in more down elevator. What a great plane!

Maiden flight of the M60

I maidened my new M60 today. It was incredible. No trim adjustments needed. She left my hand and with a little back pressure, up and out she went. Man, this plane covers a lot of real estate quickly.

Here's a little video of the launch.

M60 Maiden Flight - Shapell (1 min 43 sec)

The first flight ended nicely but I managed to hit the only non-leafy (sticks) bush. The second flight went very well. I up'd the aileron throw to my high rate and the M60 rolled very nicely. Unfortunately I landed in the same spot as before and broke a servo horn. Hum, maybe I should think about changing my control rods to a under/over set up.

Thanks Matin for a great plane. Thanks Tom and Dick for building and set up help.

That's funny, I was just chatting with Matin in my garage.

We had a good time flying at TOW. Got some video and stills of the FBs in action.

So it seems no one likes the name Fluffy Bunny, what would you use for a name?

Definitely not ZEUS. Fluffy Bunny isn't a bad name, it's just that there are so many variations on rabbit names out there, and we are clever
