Flydumini - turnigy plush 10A

Hi,

has anybody tried the flydumini with the turnigy plush 10A-ESC? I'm waiting for the plush 6A at Hobbyking now quite long but they're still not available. But the 10A are available...
But the reviews at HK are not too good

FlyduMini the Second

After the FlyduMini with the proto frame flies quite reasonable, I have a second 2.4 mm with the stronger frame construction.

List of materials:
- 1 x 2.4 mm Flydumini Frame
- 4x Hexatronik 10g Brushless Outrunner Motors
- 4x FlyFun 6A ESC from Hobbywing
- 1x ITG 3205
- 1x BMA020
- 1x 7-channel Deltang Rx32 of SUM-PPM - (Spectrum compatible)
- 1x landing skid from the TRex 250
- 1x 2S 7.4 V/800mAh
- 4x 2-blade 5x3 props CW and CCW
- 4x 3 LED stripes (red and yellow / orange)

I screwed the arrow under the frame, as a direction indicator (in the vicinity;-)) and as a lipo-holder.
Electronic coverage as of I've built a plate from a disused packaging.

I tested with MWC v1.8p2, with original values, but did not bring back the stable flight.

Values halved and therefore re-tested, that's better but still not good enough.

ITG and BMA against one of 6DOF Drotek exchanged, and changes recorded test flight, ... anderst not, as might be expected.

Propeller balanced again and see ... will fly the bird.

So back down the 6DOF and my team ITG piggyback mounted on BMA.

No matter what you do, I'm repeating myself here, A and O is the balancing of the propeller, just come to the vibration gyro you've lost. A lot of double sided tape brings no improvement, rather deteriorates the whole.

Even if I give in the arms of the frames fly without reinforcement (carbon rods or other), both the frame nor the Black Proto-Mini.

The landing gear I'll still make a little lower, otherwise return a TOP Copter

Thanks to Paul.

Nachdem der FlyduMini mit dem Protoframe ganz vernünftig fliegt, habe ich einen zweiten mit dem stärkeren 2,4mm Frame gebaut.

Materialliste:
- 1x 2,4mm Flydumini Frame
- 4x Hexatronik 10g Brushless Outrunner Motoren
- 4x 6A FlyFun ESC von Hobbywing
- 1x ITG 3205
- 1x BMA020
- 1x Rx32 von Deltang 7-Kanal SUM-PPM (Spektrum kompatible)
- 1x Landegestell vom TRex 250
- 1x 2S 7,4V/800mAh

Dank an Paul.

Hi olaf.j

Black Mantis ESC were fine too (http://www.giantcod.co.uk/black-mant...-402902.html); you can program the motor rotation (comes handy!) - but, be shure the buy the programming card too!

Hi Olaf,

I have only ever used Turnigy Plush 10A esc's on all my copters
(Tri/Quad/hex) over the last 2 years.

I have never had a problem in use, never had a D.O.A.
The only mod I do is to remove one of the piggy backed BEC's from the PCB to lower the profile. The Hobby wing equivalent is identical except it only comes with 1 BEC on the board.... Same manufacturer.

I would be dubious of the few bad reviews, if you scan further down, you will see they are well received. I must have bought about 40 of them now, never had a bad one... still I have never tried to draw too much current from them and also taken the time to set them up. The one review saying it smoked when plugging the programming card in the wrong way is suspect. I have done this loads of times... no problem . Same as plugging a servo the wrong way into a RX.. unless the centre pin was changed from positive, it can't cause an issue.

The new 12A versions are the same size as the 10A.. (they used to be bigger).

I have used the 10A on my mini.. I'll add a picture soon Actually, there are 2 x Turnigy plush 10A and 2 x Hobbywing 10A.

Did you connect 5V supply voltage or did you connect the I2C bus to 5V?

I conected 5V usb-FTDI board to flyduino mega and since i assume that my mag and baro are not working properly. I will try to re-upload the software and calibrate everything again.

Hi Farmer_Joe,

you must supply your Drotek IMU with 3.3V! Be shure to disable the internal pull-ups if you don't use a LLC.

sure you can, in any way the drotek needs 3.3V, you can mount a 3.3V regulator set on the mini, then you are fine.

My Flydumini is finished.

Esc's are 2 x Hobbywing and 2 x Turnigy 10A ( same manufacturer except Turnigy has 2 becs per esc, double current capacity)
Rx is a Spektrum 6300 Nanolite ( 2g) Finished weight is 148g.
WMP only, may put a BMA020 depending on how it flies.
Could loose a little more weight with lighter prop adaptors and will probably use 2 plade props, the 3 blade GWS are very poor.. I've balanced them and there is still excessive viabration, but I haven't put the frame stiffners on yet..

Thanks Paul a brilliant project.... Flyduminihex next please !!!
