oh and when you get back to EDF trials with it, some interesting stuff came up on the wemo 505 fan, which is basically a 480 fan turned down to 66mm i think, anyway it basically stated add one more cell to it for 480 fan performance. Might be something to think about for your blaster housing. I just ordered abunch of rotors from EAM just for testing out this very setup.

Spectacular!!

Love the Red and White striped tail...

Should really scoot as a pusher with HUGE verticals.

Have Fun!

Yea, I thought of the 505, but not sure the airframe can hadel the cells needed. But, there's always LiPo's?
Gave thought to the power up after throwing.
Thanks Bruce. Still wondering about the CG. The HL glider works great.

Took some Whatt Meter tests:

8-1100He, 7-5E, 131watts>15,1 A (19.5oz)
10-He, 6-5.5E, 160watts>14.2 A (21 oz)

I tried the 7-5E on 10 cells, and it has better than 1-1. But pulls 18amp on the he's. Does not need that thrust, but it would be faster on the 6-5.5.

Na

Na that's cool Steve I think the pusher will work well. I do have a question though? Have you set the brake on your ESC to stop the prop in the horizontal so it wont dig in on the flare for landing?

if it's the newer one you can leave the motor connected and just plug in the power with throttle up an TX till it beeps, then middle throttle till it beeps, then full till it beeps, then middle beeps one last time and it's in program mode. From there it's as simple as mid throttle is no response while full throttle is yes and no is chopped throttle. basically through each setting it goes through you say yes or no. if you say yes it keeps the present setting and goes to the next programmable function, if you say no it goes through those steps till you say yes i want that. for example if the "brake off" is first programmable function, and the options are "no brake", "brake on", "soft brake on", in that order, and you want soft brake. you start out in program mode with throttle in the middle as it beeps to you that brake is off, you say, throttle chop= no it's beeps to tell you ok, then return to the middle throttle, then it asks you "ok brake on" you chop and say no again, it beeps ok and you go back to the middle. Then on brake on soft you say full throttle=yes, it says ok and you go to middle again. and it goes through all programmable functions just like that. And sorry Steve if I just wasted abunch of page telling you what you allready know! LOL maybe someone will get something out of it.

Yea, I went through that last nite for the first time. Pretty neat!
I placed a thread on the vendors forum, and was told that stopping the prop in a predetermined place, was not possible.
I noticed on the Ryan warbirds, that I only broke a prop, when the brake was on. When turning on contact, it just moves out of the way.
Besides with the brake on, the planes seem to go on forever, on landing.
