I've done it on 4-5 ZTW's now, it's fine. I wouldn't get all crazy and extend it more than 3-4 inches, but 3-4 should be all you need anyways. In fact I think my byper is currently on a ZTW 60 with about a 4" lead extension on the battery side.

for what it's worth my battery is a TP 4s2700 65c, and with an a30-12xl I didn't have any trouble balancing. No spacers. Battery is about mid-tray I think.

Interesting ryan! I don't really see where the variability would come in. The battery I'm using is supposed to be 300g, the TP 292g. I will go ahead and add an extension to the battery leads and get it up to the front, into the airflow. I can't imagine moving 48g up a couple inches will make much difference compared to the battery, but I'll give it a try. Anything else with your build that might have helped the balancing?

Let me check my battery location when I get home, it's been a week since I stuck a battery in there... I could be remembering wrong.
I'll post a pic of the battery location with it balanced...

My Haiyin battery is also 300 grams. I have a motrofly motor which I think is a bit lighter than yours. Mine is a bit nose heavy, I like it. My esc (hacker) is way up front I think, can't remember exactly. I did extend the battery leads they were way too short. Can send a pic of battery location later. Not sure it will do any good since motor is different. But it's lighter so yours should balance I would think.

Which Motrolfly do you have? I know the 3615's are a touch heavier than the Hacker.

Very strange. The only thing I did was differently was replaced one pushrod and added a ball link on the elevator linkage. I'll be curious to see your pics, guys.

Ryan, yeah I have the 3615. I weighed it before installing but can't remember what it weighed. It doesn't say on the website. I have the lightened mount also.

the Hacker a30-12xl is what we are running on this, it's listed on Hacker's site at 6.3oz, or 178 grams. That is before x-mount and prop adapter usually, so you can probably add another 30 grams for about 205-210 grams. The Motrolfly is very close to that according to this post:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...ostcount=21713
at 7.0 oz for the lightened version. Pretty near the same weight for the lightened version of the 3615.

I must have been looking at the wrong hacker motor. My mistake. Here's where I put my Haiyin 2650 (300 grams) with Motrofly 3615.

I'm standing in front of mine and that just where my Gens Ace goes too. It's hanging off the tray so I need to do something with that, but I definitely have to get the esc out of the way. Thanks!!

I really enjoyed the game of "pass the box" we played with my Byper at the Tennessee Huckfest! Everyone that flew it enjoyed the plane...from circle-fliers to 3D Junkies!

I am really liking this little plane now!!

My battery is just about the same spot.
Hacker a30, ztw ESC, and you can see that the ZTW's leads are extended about 2.5 inches here.

Bad idea to extend 12ga wire on the ESC with 13ga? It's all I have.
