They're still being played with, but I prefer the model with them on. As you can see, they'll need to be covered on both sides, which the factory didn't do. The idea to incorporate them is 100% Arron's and it is a great one. They really clean up the upright harriers, and add a nice look as well.

I think that the double taper of the leading edge of the wings is rather unique. Was this for aesthetics or does it serve an aerodynamic purpose?

Matt,

That shape is known as the Schuemann wing, it's a design much loved by sailplane flyers: http://www.harrishillsoaring.org/doc/discus_johnson.pdf

The sweep at the tips is intended to force the tip votices outward, increasing the effective span and so reducing induced drag. The swept 'racing wing tips' you see added to some Edges etc are attempts at the same thing.

I'm not sure how reducing induced drag would have any benifit on a 3D model, but it does look cool.. Maybe 3DHS have discovered some other 'spin off' benefit in other flight regimes?

you see it on the vyper and osiris, so my only guess is that it has something to do with precision abilities

Saw a video from the WRAM show of the 3DHS booth. They had the Vyper Bype on display! Does this mean we're getting close to a release date?

which video?

...we're still playing, but the bipe will be coming this summer some time. We weren't going to put it on display as it wasn't completed, but said what the heck, especially when Lee Morey and Dave Lockhart (mxcop and DaveL322 on RCGroups) were all happy about posting a spy pic somewhere of it sitting in the back of my car...
