The Blanik made it's way up to Jerilderie's JR Aerotow for a sneak preview.

This was the first time I'd seen the plugs 'in the flesh' and can report that it looks really nice and is a great size for single operator scale flying.

As an added bonus, I'd looked up the Tocumwal glider club to see if they were going to be open on Easter Sunday, and stumbled on the fact that there was a Pilatus B4 in town & available to club members for hire.

Knowing that Shane and Anthony are also huge fans of the B4, I gave them a call and we arranged to meet at 'Toc' the next morning.

The last time I stayed at Tocumwal, there was a nudist convention on the south shores of the Murray and the town was full of scantily clad people, the most common dress for the women was a bikini bottom or a sari loosely wrapped around their waist.

Unfortunately, this time the town was packed but they were all fully clothed.

The bonus was that in our search for the Pilatus, were stumbled upon a Blanik.

Here are the wing photos:

After a long absence from the BLANIK work started again a few weeks ago.So far i have done one half of the tail molds ,the fuz molds and started one wing mold.Over the weekend i managed to pull afuz from the molds and a hollow molded tail. The tail has a skin of 2oz cloth a layer of .7 beech vaneer the another layer of 2oz cloth. The weight of the tail is 150 grms and the fuz is 1100 grms and plenty strong enough.the mold are made from streight epoxy as this model needs to have panel lines and rivets all over it.

Here are some pics
