I like the look of the DS16 - pleasantly uncluttered for such a complicated set. I'm thinking of making the trek to Woodsprings this year (July 7th/8th). Any chance I would be able to lay hands on this long awaited transmitter? Puffin Models stand, perhaps?

I still don't understand the calendar that Jeti use. According to their website, dealers should already have received their stocks of the DC-16 but Esprit model aren't planning on finalising the manual until the end of next week?

I certainly wouldn't contemplate buying anything as complicated as this until I had had several days studying the manual just to be sure I can get my head around the programming system. As others have said, Jeti need to publish this manual now, even if it is still subject to revision.

Are anyone of you experienced the feeling to own a film photo camera for 15 years, and not feel the need to replace it ?
In general I agree - the case whilst beautiful seems to me to essentially be an expensive piece of man jewelry! Replace it with a moulded plastic one and the price would probably drop 25-30%.

Having said that I think Jeti are targetting the very top end of the market with this radio, and want to distinguish themselves from the competition. The case does that (at least in part), and that demographic do generally keep hold of their radios for much longer than the average flier; my Evo is now 10 years young and still going strong with a FrSky conversion, and Mpx 3030 and 4000 users in particular (whom this radio seems to be squarley aimed at) have not changed theirs for at least 15!

Anyway, I will not be jumping on the Jeti bandwagon just yet - having gone FrSky I'm eager to see what their new TX does at a much lower price point before spending the kind of money we are talking about here.

Maybe before their radio... will have Royal EVO running PXX and be able to display Frsky telemetry on its display

And wait for version 3.12 perhaps.

Are you sure?
Plastic mouldings are cheap to produce in large quantity, but setting up a production line for small quantities can be expensive, and still more expense if you later want to change something.

It could be that the machined case is a sensible option for initial production volumes.

You may well be right - I hadn't looked at it that way (I had forgotten how small Jeti are in cmparison to the big boys). Even so the raw materials they have chosen here ain't exactly cheap - surely there was a more economical alternative that would have machined ok (an aluminimum alloy maybe)?

I believe it is an aluminium alloy. Original plans were magnesium, but that seems to have been dropped (economic realities I guess).

I would have thought, with inbuilt telemetry and a high-res screen, the DC 16 wouldn't need a profi box ?
You can have up to 40 parameters on the TX screen and additional 20 parameters on Profi Box. We recomend profi Box for your copilot and he/she can help you monitor telemetry data. We think this is the final way of enhancing our and your model safety. Also it's hard to look down on the radio if you need to.

Posting pictures and videos is all well and good, but ...

1 Do you actually have any Jeti DC-16 transmitters to sell?
2 Has it passed FCC certification?

1) We do have ordered radios, first batch of 20 will be shipped next week.
2) Already in progress, FCC in California is testing as we speak.

To clarify the above statement:

Radios are on the way with the first batch expected soon.
FCC certification is in process.
No radios will be sold/shipped in the USA prior to completion of FCC certification.

Just ask if you need to know something.
We will not release "something NOT completely finished" and generate more questions than answers.
