T-34/85 in progress

Hello fellow tank-o-holics! I recently acquired a T-34 that was sold on ebay. Brand new in the box! Of course I had to tear it apart right away. I am planning to install Tamiya Pershing TU's in it and I am thinking about trying to also use the pershing'd outdrives in this tank. Still in the planning stages right now. So far I have added welds and texture to the turret and hull and made the turret hatch functional I also made a brake light and housing for it.... I then applied a coat of pait to it. So far so good. But, I'll let you guys be the judge.

I got a few stencils and decided to have a go at the turret slogan and number, so here is the result.
The slogan translates "For Stalin"

That is really looking nice. Do you think an HL airsoft cannon would fit in the turret?

I have a set of the Tamiya gear drives on the way since I plan on getting one of these.

Thank you. I would imagine you could install an airsoft if you want to. I prefer IR, so it will become a fighter. As for the Tamiya TU's, I know that Daryl installs thema nd does nay needed amching to make it allc ome together. I am ordering some of his parts and sending him the gearboxes to re-work them.

Here's a couple shots after a filter was applied. It made the detail pop out alot more.

I haven't got much more done to the T-34 this week, as I am now in need of parts. I did manage to add a working hull MG though. Made from the stock parts and I added a piece of brass tube and an LED into the hull underneath.

That's awesome! How did you simulate the welds & the steel texturing?

They were done using squadron putty on this build. I have used JB weld and milliput with great results as well. I am hapy with this as well though.

No problem. If you plan to do this, make sure you allow enough time for the putty to dry, and then sand any loose pieces off. If you don't, the ieces will flake off after painting and that will not look very good.
