Hey guys , a couple of questions here. I have several flights on my Mig29 , so I am still learning , I saw many movies that this mig has more than 1:1 power sa she can lift in any condition , yesterday I tried high alfa and full throtle just barely cept me hovering - no lift at all. I am lflying with WellPower SE V2 4000MAH/22, 2V 45/80C CH8 which is 635 g heavy. Also I did not program my speeds to my throtle range - I guess it is like turnigy - put the throtle stick to max - then connect the battery and then after hearing the beeps you put the stick down - but I did not tried this yet.

My plane is V2 with new ESC which are 65A I think. Stock motors with little fan balansing by me.

So my question is - how can I improve the thrust. I want it to have enough power to get away from troubles - I have to rebuild the whole nose section now btw Everything to the battery is havy damaged from my last crash.

I am thinking for 2x

http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...0kv-EFLM3015DF

and

http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...ed-fan-EFLDF15

This E-flight combo is making about 50A , and thrust about 1.3kg - the stock motor/fan is making 52A and about 1.2kg thrust I think.

Any suggestions here ?

For starters measure the amp draw @ WOT, I am curious to see the results...

That is a 6S battery that you are mentioning. The SebArt is a 4S system. A regular 4S, e.g. the SLS APL 45C 4.000mAh, weighs 462 grams and the SebArt does fly with it and hover with it, very well.

Are you sure you are using the SebArt MiG, not the Lanxiang MiG? If you put the 6S into the SebArt, you would fry the electronics.

Cheers,
Henrik

Futhermore, I think the manual recommends using a 3300ma battery for 3D, and 4000ma for more regular flying.

Of course that's only 2.5 minutes of flying but who's counting ;-)

Ah , my mistake - I am sorry , it is Sebart - but I linked my Eurofighter Battery which is also 4000 mah.

I am using this one for the Mig 29 :

SE V2 4000MAH/14, 8V 45/80C CH8 - it is the 4S version and it is only 425g

I have 4S - 3300mah Hyperion battery with 35C but I had no chance to try it yet - since I crashed pretty badly - I wanted to do High Alpha hoover - when the plane fliped

But anyway - my questions was whats other expirience on stock power system - do I need to upgrade it - or go for lighter battery or something ?

It is 53A per fan - so 103A total for both at WOT.

That is not enough. Welcome to the wonderful world of Wellpower batteries, especially the so-called CH8 45C, first series. I have had two. Can you say "balloon"?

The second series is supposed to be okay. I have two of them, too, for the SebArt, and it flies and hovers and accelerates vertically with them. Good enough.

Your amp draw at the beginning should be more like 120A+. That's what I got.

Maybe better connectors? How hot does your battery-ESC connection get at the plugs?

Cheers,
Henrik

I was afraid of batteries yes , my connectors are EC5 and did not feel hot after flight. I have also Hyperion 3300mAh - 35C - so next time I will test with them - and will check Throttle range too.

Mine is 118 Amps WOT with a Thunder Power 4,400 65C pack, that's another 250 Watts. My vertical is pretty decent and the Mig hovers @ 2 clicks past 1/2 power...

I use 4000 mah Gens Ace packs and also get about 118 amps / 1750 watts. I also just installed two Eflite 60 amp ESC's I had lying around so I may bump the timing to see how it holds up. Took out the gyro and installed an Eagle Tree Guardian 3 axis gyro as well......works well on the bench but a little reluctant to try it. The stock setup flew great all of last year then one day it decided to snap roll into the ground from a hover, almost like the gyro reversed.

That sounds very realistic. I measured a tiny bit above 120 amps with SLS APL 4.000 mAh 45C.

If you try that out, please let us know, it would be very interesting to hear!

Thanks,
