i guess I'm just spoiled..

There's a buncha ODOM Guys here in San Diego..but of late I seem to be missing them.. have swung by the pond several times over lunch and occasionally after work.. (yeah! Daylight savings time is Great !) but typically NO one at all is in the water sailing.. and the wind's perfect!.

But, now that I've been spoiled .. it's pretty boring without them racing alongside.. Dudes.. get your butts down here!..Ok?

What charger do you use with that battery?

I generally use a couple others for the NiMHs but for the Tx Lipos I have one of these Cel Pro chargers left over from my Power Plane days.. it works great..tells you how well each cel is balancing within .oo1 volts in a LCD display and the % of charge as it's charging.. but when a battery starts to fail it's hard to get it to charge it cause it detects this... that's the only complaint.

Hope it helps..

DeAnza D-Day Today

It's a Power Boat Day at the SD Pond so Louis and I are planning to meet up over at the Cove at around 11:45 today and practice starts and race a bit..

He doesn't have a real ODOM but has several modified boats including an
ODOM + .. hopefully one will be in good working condition tomorrow since he's been modding the heck out of them recently

Hope to see ya'll here:

had a ball at the SD Pond today..
lots of ODOMs and not too many other boats.

not too much wind but it was good enough for some interesting races..

I tried to edit a lot of the boring parts out of this..

From the mast- Sat 19 March at SD Boat Pond (10 min 25 sec)

the fast ODOM Boat with out a number is Dennis Roger's with a new Jess Atkinson sail on it... he's got a terrific boat.. very fast and he's an excellent sailor.. Me, I had a pretty good day but managed to mess up and hit John Tyler "Got Milk" a couple times.. and Del Perena once too.. sadly i missed that part of the video cause the camera ran out of memory..

I really like the mast mounted camera, Jim. Totally different experience from what you see watching from the shore. It would also be cool to see it from deck level, although it would be tough with the jib and main moving around.

That's amazing...feels like I'm sailing (except for when those giants appear on the shore...) Great video.

Very cool .. I like the top-down-the mast view and Fog Horn especially.. Where do you guys sail? Are there many ODOMs there? JimS

Wow.. it's blowing hard..

I may head down just to see if my new rigging can hold up under the stress of this kind of wind.. that is if it's not raining too hard too..

Got the No "99" painted on the main yesterday and fixed the downhaul so i could adjust it on the Capo Rig. it's getting there..

Fun day today at the Pond..
there were 3 other ODOMs and another 4 different boats out while there over lunch.. I think Rich R was the ODOM "Sailor to beat for the Day" and Chris C. a close second..

but this Long clip below is from yesterday where we had a little more wind..
this is a LONG...single boat video, possibly very boring discussion about ODOM tuning options and a session tweaking some of them.

I posted it simply cause i wanted to see if my new video editor and YouTube would handle files over 15 minutes long..

Tuning discussion at the SD pond (15 min 55 sec)
