Not really. It would be great on the a proper F5D ship.

The top speed is greater than my 36mm ARC on 4s/7x7.

But the thrust is obviously lacking. It's fun though. I would like to try a 5.2x5.2 prop but I dont want to do it with an Ice 100. It's going to pull over 100 and I would like to stay on the throttle longer. SO......... I need a P125. But I just bought a P180 for my Absolute, so it won't be happening.

I'm totally addicted to the kick of a folding prop ramping up to shoot the bird into a ballistic trajectory.... And I'm only at 1.8kW with my NEU 1115 setup. For me it's geared setups all the way! Have bought two P125s the last week.... And have a mystery motor with a GB rated at 3.5kW continous attached to it on the way....

And to think, you are only using a 1115 setup.

Just imagine the torque from a 1509 or a 1512. It's unreal. A local buddy has a 1512 on 5S with a 16x17 slim.

Enigma and X-Plane. That's all you need in the High Performance department.

Hopefully you put an insane setup in both.

I would go direct drive on that X-plane. Fly it like an F5D ship.

All that Carbon scares me though. I suffer from "receiver loss of signal paranoia"

Sanity is not my business..
The X will inherit the 1115, with a 7 degree spinner.

But I do know I'll be missing a FLUXKOMPENSATOR....

I got mine from Lindinger sale for 175 shipped. I started building it yesterday. No hurry, it will be my winter project.

I will cut a canopy hatch for battery change since I hate removing the wing for it. The fuselage needs some serious stiffening since it feels like it will crunch in my fingers when launched.

Setup will be for warmliner power of 600-700W
Turnigy 3648-850kv outrunner
Turnigy Plush 80A
2p 3s2200mAh Turnigy batteries
HK-929MG digital servos.

So a low budget setup indeed.

Just for the record:
The V-Max ECO did get a new fuselage and setup during 2012.
The new fuselage is a Hawk F5B (from Staufenbiel) and the new setup is

KEDA 3650/10 (3500kv)
KPG 5.2
RFM 16x17 slim
5S2200
HK 200A ESC

Best videos from the season: (same flight, different cameras)

Hawk F5B Onboard HD wide (5 min 58 sec)

Hawk F5B Pilot's view (6 min 18 sec)
