the plane is 10/11mm 1.9# EPP. i used a 2mmx10mm CF strip as a blade spar for the wing. .5mmx10mm CF reinforcing for ailerons and elevator. .4mmx10mm for fuse side brace. the cross bracing is 2mm at the wing and 1.8mm for the fuse and tail. prior to the x-bracing the fuse had good lateral rigidity, but bad in torque. hopefully the x-bracing will help with twisting. i have to mention i made a HUGE mistage that i'm %$#@* about!.......i was just not paying attention and attached the bottom fuse to the top of the wing! didn't realize it till it was dry and not a thing i could to about it then. soo the bevel for the control surfaces is on top....i know....well, i wouldn't think it will effect the flight characteristics, only the aesthetics. oh well....i'll just have to fly inverted all the time. servos will be HS-82mg all around. more to come.

i know!.....couldn't believe it.....when i flipped it over and realized that was the top i wanted to!.....i thought about cutting the bottom off but then just said forget it, it's a prototype and it won't effect the way it flies.

Ailerons that large with full throw would be like air brakes.
Not a bad looking design.

i know, and on separate servos could be interesting. soo here are some more photos i realized i need for scale. the AUW looks like it's going to be much less then i thought....i was shooting for 34 oz....looks more like 20-24. soo the cross bracing firmed it up really nice!....i checked it with just on one side and was pretty stiff and since my weight is going to good, i ran it down both sides. going to make the control horns next. i have them designed, just have select the plywood......stay tuned.

Praise from the designer . We'll probably see RJ with an 80" version now

RJ,

one of these out of 6mm and 9mm depron would be perfect for you!.....i selected EPP more for transport then crashability. this size and weight it's not going to crash well no matter what it's made of. i started designing removable wings but it was going to be more complex, more expensive and more heavy! the epp will be more forgiving in and out of the house and car. you would very surprise how rigid it is. i have no idea what i was looking at when i stated my AUW but it's going to be 30-32. i selected a Turnigy TR 35-42D 1000kv and an APCe 12x6 or 13x4 with a 40 amp opti jeti ESC (because i have it). i know there are tons of better motors out there, but this should be fine.
