Yo coco,
lets see some test flying with tail mod . If u still have sucess, i may try again 1 day.
My problem might have been the red wire that we cut off speed controler i spliced into the orange wire. Im guessing u did not do this.??

Yes bart the 5055 have a seperate horn kit you can buy.

Good luck dil . Hows the 120 coming.
Check the latest upload I did, I tried installing the tail bl motor on the stock side/original side of the v400 motor and using the stock v400 tail blade. It's flying really good. You have to play around on the motor wiring to get it to not spin . I stop counting on how many flights I have on the tail bl mod. Please search : chippi09 on you tube.

BTW, just pull out the orange wire on the RUDD and replace it with the white wire from tail esc, don't cut the red wire just secure it on the side.

Hi COCO, can you post some up close pics of your BL tail on here? The videos are really cool, but it is hard to closely study the tail assembly.

I have finally re-opened my v400 to see if i can fix it once and for all. It's been out of commission for a long time now while i've been working on and flying my 450's. The v400 is back on the bench now though, and I have new servos (fusonic) and new main bearing blocks to put in it. Hopefully i'll get to it sometime this week, and I hope even more that this works.

Bart, glad to hear you're finally getting some good flight time in!!
G'Day mate and thanks for your interest. Yes pleased to report the "New" bird is on it's 6th hover with training gear attached, still learning what she likes but the sweat on the brow has not gone yet..but NO crashes. I am going to sit these two side by side and see if I can work out why this second hand bird is so unresponsive....I am guessing it is set up. What I do with the brushless set up I still dont know, maybe put it in the new bird and see if it will fly. Good thing is having a new and old side by side may give me an answer. Update soon thanks again.

MAKE SURE TO GLUE OR SECURE WIRES ON BACK OF BL MOTOR.WHEN THEY BREAK IT WILL GIVE YOU THE SPIN OF DEATH.I scrap 2 bl motors due to broken wires and trying to solder them back is a PITA. The HURC 2712-17 has bigger wires, the TURNIGY HAS TINY WIRES.

Caution : NOTICED THAT I HAVE 2 SET UP,STOCK SIDE AND THE OTHER SIDE.YOU NEED TO REVERSE OR PLAY WITH THE WIRING TO GET IT FLYING RIGHT .If the heli spins just reverse wiring, maybe the red and white.IF WHAT EVER YOU DO AND IT KEEPS SPINNING STILL,CHECK BL MOTOR WIRES ONE OR TWO MUST HAVE CAME APART. I have scrap 2 bl motors due to broken wires,if you can solder it back then you are lucky.

V400d02 tail bl mod wiring

NOTE : PULL OUT ORANGE WIRE ON RUDDER AND REPLACE WITH THE WHITE WIRE FROM THE WK-WST-10A-T ESC.Don't cut the RED wire, just secure it on the side. WHITE WIRE ONLY TO RUDDER ON V400 RX.

Hi COCO, thanks a bunch for posting pics of your tail set up -- it looks great! Could I trouble you for pics of the Rx end of the heli showing the tail ESC?

The set up I am contemplating will utilize the existing tail gears of the V400. I think the gear ratio reduces strain on the motor while allowing the motor to spool more quickly, even during cross-wind conditions. I haven't started piecing this together, yet, because my CB100 is being such a buggar! After working on the CB100, the V400 seems like such a breeze to fix.

Oh, cool. Thanks for this. Just to be clear, is it true then that the JST connector in the right-most pic goes directly to the LIPO?

Yes, but I have not opened it yet. It's is a Christmas present from my wife. Based on this forum's recommendation of ClubHeli, however, I feel confident that the kit is very well crafted.

V400 tail bl mod w/ stock blade

If you guys decide to use the V400 stock blade on the bl motor,MAKE SURE TO CUT THIS ,TO MAKE IT VERY SECURE TO THE PROP ADAPTOR. Or you will surely crash if the prop gets loose on med flight.I learned this the hard way.
