V400D Back Up

I got my V400d back up and like the double frame mod. It really does make the servos mount more ridged. It didn't bend the main shaft which was a big surprise. Feathering shaft was good, but that main gear was wasted. Still going to play with the pitch and pitch travel a little then back to terrorize the park. I'll watch out for those low hanging branches. Hope I got my crashes out of the way for a while.
Thanks to Heli Heli for fast delivery.

I had 2 great flights with v400 at a huge field today. It makes me feel good to know i can make a heli fly again. I also got my 2 new 2200 mah batteries for my v450 , im sure i will test them with the 400 also. The wires were 1 gauge bigger than all my other batteries so i had to splice a smaller wire on before putting connectors on. Now its raining, so im glad i got some fly time in the morning. Hope the heli test goes good barn! .

Hmmmm, nobody seems to have the brushless Walkera ESC or high-speed signal converter for the brushless tail in stock. So, now I am wondering, why not use the same type of signal converter and ESC that we used for the main for the tail? Come to think of it, I think I remember Kdean mentioning that such a configuration led to a slower tail response, but I cannot remember for sure.

I don't know, guys, I'm kind of daydreaming about just going ahead and building a CopterX 450 or an EXI 450 clone . . .

Just Do It! It's been my go to heli. Plus you'll learn a lot building up one, but it won't be too difficult for you since you're already heli knowledgeable. Not to mention there is a whole thread filled with people who have been making those combos with walkera rx's in case you get into a bind.

oh, and from my experience i'd stay away from the EXI brand, the part quality is not very good imo. My one way bearing on the main gear is completely bound up, among other things. I think copterx or Tarrot are suppose to be decent, or that red fbl one that somebody posted the link to on this thread a while back.

Hi Dilberto, thanks for the advice. Also, thanks for your input about the EXI brand. Right now, my only experience with EXI is their servos. One servo became chattery, but otherwise no problems. I've also heard decent things about CopterX. I have been thinking about the CX 250, maybe becuase I already have the motor. But the 450 size is pretty attractive as well, and no doubt can handle more windy conditions than the 250.

Hey navigator, From what I hear the 250 is much more difficult to fly. Why don't you try the Flybarless one from Club Heli that they have been advertising? I've also heard that the Torrot is a good one.

Re: FUSINO

We are using the FUSUNO hand painted/airbrushed Fiber Glass Canopies. So far, FUSUNO makes three different sytles for the Walkera V400D02 (Century Neon Blaze SE Clone). These are very strong and durable canopies that are seamless and the paint is automotive grade.

Hey Dane,

What configuration did you use on the brushless tail mod?
