Wait, sounds like a truck pulled up outside.....No, false alarm.

This might be a direct replacment.

Heck.... You should be able to use the whole rx set up and brushless main, (minus the rotor servo)

Just a thought...........
If it fits, why not??

V400 just arrived!! Gotta go now!!

Sorry, kdean, last night I just got her out of the box and put the batt on charge, when the grandkids came over for the night.

First impressions is that it is larger than the 9053, which surprised me. I thought it would be a tad smaller. The blades are several inches longer and of course after taking 1.5" off the 9053, the body is longer also. It may still be a tad longer than a stock 9053.

Beautiful machine, especially in it's simplicity. A lot less to go wrong.

That is all I have for now, and I will (try) not to rush it into the air. My plan is to get my EF Sabre 4ch fp flying again (just needs flybar repair and balancing) and go though the RADD heli training system (have you heard of that?). Neat thing about having other helis to fly (along with fixed wing 3D planes), I can have fun and take my time and not feel I HAVE to get the V400 in the air.

Good luck in getting your 9053 blades and V400, hope they arrive soon!

Awesome JD,

I did my first mod today and that was to wire a ni-cad transmitter battery pack in. Then just a few minutes ago, placed her on the living room carpet and fired her up. Link up was almost instant. Smooth as silk and great turbine sound! Powered up just so that it was getting light on her feet and then after a few moments, spooled her down.

Here is a link to setting up the transmitter. If you do not already know, these people have a bunch of nice mods including a brushless setup. and are working on the servo problem. Here is a link to their YouTube videos on how to set up pitch curves.

SpadCat

Actually, that link was for their brushless set up.

What is RADD training?

I'm still waiting, and still ordering stuff. Hopefully I'll have a squardern of 4 helis. (9053, and 3 (yeah thats right, three) V400D02s'. My hanger will be stocked with spare, replacement, and upgrade parts.

I orderd a set of V450D01 servos, and a set of turnigys is coming with one of the other V400. I will be bloging the swap-out and performance of both sets of metal upgrade servos.

I also got some stuff from RTF-Heli, Super Skids, Stealth Blades. Like you spad, I dont think i need anymore power under the hood, YET!!!!!

I really only need two of the V400s' to fly, That way one can rest while i lay into the other. But, I would hate to just use one of them just for parts.
Why only have 2 when you can have 3.

I have a good idea about our 9053 blade strike problem, but I'll post that on that thread. Some testing still needs to be done.

Enjoy your air time......

I had to have it at the front of the battery tray.

With a heli that has a fly-bar you use the flybar to balance the heli, this V400 has no flybar so we need a way to get the CG set so it flys good.

Here is a pic of one with a flybar as you can se its level.

Starting My Heli Hobby

This is the list of all the items I have, and have orderd, since I got into the r/c heli hobby four weeks ago. At present, the only item I have is the 9053 volitation. Everything else is in transit or waiting to be shipped.

R/C HELICOPTERS

1 Double Horse 9053 Volitation Coaxial 3ch Helicopter (Xmas gift from wife)

1 Walkera V400D02 2.4Ghz Flybarless Series RTF Ready to Fly
Helicopter w/ Auto Stabilizing Gyro/ WK- 2603 Digital Transmitter
(ordered from X-Heli)

1 Walkera V400D02 with WK- 2603 Transmitter and 2 Stock LiPo Batteries.
(ordered from ThatGuy)

1 Used Walkera V400D02 with WK- 2603 Transmitter (flown once and crashed,
complete except for: one servo and canopy. Tail boom to frame attachment is
broken.) (ordered from ThatGuy)

PARTS INVENTROY

Volitation 9053 parts:

(ordered from X-Heli)
1 7.4V Battery
2 Tail Blade
1 Main Blade Grip Set
2 Balance Bar
1 Inner Shaft
1 Connect Buckle
5 Main Blade Set AB

Walkera V400D02 parts:

(ordered from X-Heli)
3 Main Shaft
1 Tail Boom
1 Servo Holding Frame
1 Ball Linkage Set
(ordered from Wowhobbies)
3 Tail Rotor Blades
3 Tail Motor Holder
4 Main Gear Set
1 Screw Set
1 Tail Motor
1 HM-V450D01-Z-14: Set Of 3 Digital Cyclic Servos, For V450D01
(ordered from ThatGuy)
3 Turnigy sg90 servos
2 Servo Holding Frame
1 Canopy
1 Tail Boom Attachment
1 Tail Boom Strut
(ordered from RTF-Heli)
3 WALKERA V400D02 Metal Tail Boom Mount Support
1 SuperSkids 400 Landing Gear (SLG400BK) BLACK
1 SuperSkids Adapter450 (BLACK)
1 STEALTH BLADES - Carbon Fiber 315mm
3 Disposable ATO 3 AMP Fast Blow Fuse w/ JST connectors (PURPLE)

ACCESSORIES

(ordered from X-Heli)
1 Thunder AC6 Smart Balance Charger/Discharger
1 New RC Tech 6 CH Flight Simulator Remote Control
1 15pcs Tool Kits for RC 18P37-ToolBox
2 Helicopter Training Kit
2 8-pcs AA 2200mAh NiMH Transmitter Battries
(ordered from Wowhobbies)
1 450 / 400 Walkera Heavy Gauge Aluminum Case: Vertical loading
(ordered from ThatGuy)
1 400 / 450 Heavy Gauge Aluminum Case: Side loading

The reason for ordering all this at one time is due to my location, The Bahamas, and the lack of a Local Hobby Shop (LHS). This should keep me occupied and able to fly for a long time without the need to wait four weeks for a replacement part to get here.

I will be posting this list in my "flight blog". (for newbies like me interested in getting a V400D02)

These are delicate helis and from what I'm hearing you dont even have to 'fly and crash' to break some of the parts.
