Hey Guys,
Just and FYI - If anyone needs a replacement hull kit #2014-1
The kit includes: the hull, deck, hatch cover and keel box

This the racing version in white-shown in the picture below.
Graupner is selling this kit for $57.80 + shipping
Any other locations would be actual cost.

I am asking ony $45 including shipping to the lower 48.You cover the Pay Pal fee

If you are interested shoot me a PM - I just posted this ad in the classified section.

Another Micro Build

Boomer,
This is what has happen to the kit you sold me so far.

I will be ordering Keel, fin and bulb soon, does anyone know where i can get a MK1 keel/fin from? (in stock I mean)

I have replaced most of the parts in the hull and under the deck for CF pieces, don't know who to order the sails from as there are so many to choose from

In one photo you will see the new boom fittings that I will be selling/sailing soon

Will keep you all updated on the progress
(I think this is build number 3 that I have started, hope to finish this one)

Sources for MM parts

Mike
Thanks for the update. I am glad everything arrived safely! It's long plane ride from here to there!

There are a number of places to order MM parts. Check out these links. A goole search should come up with more sites.

Mike

I think I have one spare in the cupboard..

I was going to do another upgrade but when the Mk1 Rudder got discontinued & the possible same happening to the MK1 Kit, I stopped

I was concerned that the MMI Rules may have some amendments to be considered about the Mix n Match between the two kits..

There is a small discussion on the MMI Website but nothing firm as yet.

For me if the MK1 Kit does get discontinued then IMHO there should be a restriction to use standard Fins that come with the Kit without the Mix n Match of parts allowed..

So far Copy Mk1 Rudders are not allowed..

Time will tell where the MMI Members will go... Early Days yet..

So if you are doing it for formal racing the MM then, I'll see what I have spare & bring down the lake next visit..

Cheers

John

The only transparent MM that I recall was one especially built by Graupner for the same purpose that you envisage. I don't think it was ever kitted.

Martin

There was a limited Run on the Kit (Mk1) a few years ago by rczeilen.nl. Sent an email a few months ago but no reply as yet.

It got approval in the MMI Rules (Hull, deck & canopy - transparent 2114.1 rczeilen.nl product no - 900777)

My guess is it would be quite heavy considering the plastics & process involved, so not much good for Racing.. Other than as a novelty, which would add more to the fun...

Cheers

Looks like the Kit in Transparent is still available...

Got a reply from Rudi & we are setting up an order for all the necessary bits.

Finally might have something that answer all the questions about how Radio Control Yachts actually work..

Once I get the parts delivered (could be a few weeks to Oz) I'll post a few pics & more details.

Cheers

There seems to be a Chinese copy of the MM and/or Graupner are outsourcing it: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...93&postcount=9

Thanks for the Link... Had to ask the question.. Not sure it is actually an MM copy just something of a similar size:

The transparent one I ordered is the one supported by the MMI community... It's not listed on the website but can be ordered seperate... I found another email address on site that got things moving along.

That will make things complete. I doubt I will build it to Race Standard but more for the question & answer sessions at displays.

I know a guy that works in plastics & I suspect he will be doing most of the joins to avoid any clumsy smudge marks..

Cheers

MM Transparent Kit (MK1)

Well here we are less than 7 days since ordering the Transparent MM from Europe... Super Fast Delivery accompanied by great service..
Thank You Rudi...

I expected only to receive a Hull, Deck, Canopy & Keelbox & was very surprised to get a Full MK1 Kit including all the instructions & parts to build up into a complete Mk1 Boat.

For the price it cost I might just order another one...

Here are a few photos of the Kit I received..

Cheers

John

PS That makes 10 MM's (4 Complete, 3 under construction, 2 Kits & the Transparent Mk1)..
